What people are saying about Plaza de la Merced

Our guide, Tania, had a wealth of knowledge about the Alcazaba and the history of Malaga and AL Andaluz in general. Although the Alcazaba is not large or intact like the Moorish palaces of Seville or Granada, it was worth the visit and also having a guide. The tour included the Teatro Romano and Cathedral, both of which can be viewed on their own, but worth the modest sum of having a guide. Pace was perfect and after 3 hours, you are in the center of the historic district for more casual exploring. A productive and informative walk with a small group made the time well spent. Highly RECOMMEND.

Finding the starting point at the tour office was a little tricky as the taxi could only take us to the end of the plaza. With the help of locals we found it tucked away in an alley off the main plaza. Our guide was very passionate about her city of Malaga and took us on a history tour throughout. Plenty of time was allowed for photos and questions. It was an easy walk at a manageable pace.

The tour was particularly interesting because of the knowledge and attentiveness of the guide who was very responsive to what I wished to know.

The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of his country. He made the tour very enjoyable and we had a good time.

Tania was amazing. She is a local and legend at bringing the history of Malaga to you. Highly recommend.
