Full description
Explore Porto from the vantage point of a self-balancing Segway on this tour, and glide along historic streets to see the city’s main attractions. After a brief training session on the self-balancing vehicles, follow your guide and head towards the Miragaia neighborhood; location of Porto’s ancient walls. As you tour, your guide will describe Porto’s origin as a pre-Roman settlement, talk about Roman times, and how Portugal was reconquered from the Moors in 868, restoring the city of Portucale. See attractions such as Clérigos Tower, the bell tower of the Baroque Igreja dos Clérigos (Church of the Clergymen); once Portugal’s tallest structure. See the metal span of Dom Luis Bridge over the River Douro, and admire the magnificent Romanesque Cathedral (Sé do Porto), towering over the city’s historical center point.

Highly recommended !!!!! Lucas our tour guide was fabulous, very kind and friendly. He made us feel like we are friends for many years. During the tour we learned a lot of things about the history of Porto and many hidden tips as well. This was the best 3 hours we spent in Porto.

All in all, a very nice tour of Porto with a guide who knew his way around and was very enthusiastic about the matter. The tour lasted over 3 hours and it was definitely an advantage that it wasn't our first Segway tour. Because it often went through the heavy traffic and through the pedestrian zone. Since we did this tour right at the beginning of our stay, we immediately had an overview of all the sights of Porto. The price also included a coffee break including the local pastries (Pastéis de Belém). The communication between guide and participant could be improved a little, because due to the strong ambient noise (road traffic and crowds of tourists) a headset would have been better to understand all explanations. The guide also gave us one or two tips for local restaurants. The tour can therefore definitely be recommended.

I'M RATING A 2 HOUR TOUR (not 3 hour). Signed up for 3-hour tour which was canceled due to only one participant signing up…they were able to switch me to the 2-hour tour with Dominique, a travel expert intern from the Netherlands. Excellent, well-informed guide with a knack for taking us to see the hidden gems in town. Only advice I can give is make sure you know how to start and stop the Segway PRIOR to embarking on the tour (they give you time to learn it in a square). Porto is nothing but cobblestone roads, hills, and sidewalks with large lips that the Segway must navigate, so be comfortable knowing when you have to add “more power” to get up the sidewalks and hills! Definitely worth the money for this informative, fun way to see Porto—even saw the “prettiest McDonalds” in the world…it has chandeliers!! Highly recommend…ask for Dominique!!
