Full description
Start your full-day tour in the center of Porto where your guide will introduce you to the rich history of the city and share some intriguing anecdotes with you. Travel in style in a comfortable minivan to Peso da Régua, in Northern Portugal for a short coffee break.  Next, head to the first winery stop on the itinerary. Discover and taste the region's famous wines while admiring the panoramic views of the vineyards that weave across the landscape. Around midday, you’ll move on to a restaurant for a delicious local Portuguese lunch. Choose from fish, meat, and vegetarian options. Continue your journey to the second vineyard where you will learn about the various stages of winemaking from a vineyard specialist and get to try out some of Douro’s finest Porto wine. As a special treat, stop at the Pinhão Railway Station, whose walls are beautifully decorated with blue glazed mosaic tiles depicting sceneries of the Douro Valley and its history of port wine production. Before returning to Porto, take a scenic 1-hour river cruise along the Douro River, where you can mingle with the other guests you've met along the tour. On your route back to Porto your minivan will stop at an amazing viewpoint where you can take beautiful pictures of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Ivo was excellent. He spoke well of the region and was knowledgeable. At the wineries the presentations were less than stellar on there explanations particularly the corporate one, Quinta São Luis. Also it was hard to manage a group of 40 people. I would recommend capping the tour at 20-30.

What a great day from start to finish. We were met by tour guide Milena and our driver Rui in Porto. The information from Milena on the trip to the valley was informative and fun and our visits to the wineries was really interesting with great port wines to taste. We had the most delicious 3 course meal at a very posh restaurant where the wine flowed!! Onto the last winery which was such a contrast to the large one in the morning with more delicious port wine! Thank you and would definitely recommend

This tour was a great introduction to port wine, some Portuguese history, and wine making. Ivo was a great guide and I appreciated his humor mixed with his historical knowledge. Rao was a great driver as well and safely took us to the wineries which are very elevated. The boat ride was nice especially if you are able to sit in the front of the boat. We went to two different wineries - one more commercial and the other family led. It was interesting hearing from both wineries how much work it takes to produce port wine. The lunch was good and had a vegetarian option of pasta, soup appetizer, bread and oil, and fruit or cake for dessert. I liked how we were able to sample both ruby and white wine at the wineries. The port wine jam was great!
