A great day out. Meet at 9.15. Tour starts at 9.30. Smooth 30mins boat ride over to Prison island. Watch out for the many guys who will try to sell you a tour whilst waiting for the trip to start...but harmless, just say ur already booked. But great location if u haven't yet booked yet. Prison island, very basic gud its not an overly commercialized spot. Don't wear trainers or jeans, u have to enter the shallow water to get off /on the boat. There's a small museum to see, but the highlight are the tortoises, amazing to see. U can buy refreshments. Moved to the sandbank after a 40min boat ride for chilling, very hot. No natural shade, but they put up a makeshift canopy, u can snorkel, relax, and eat lunch (seafood platter) for couple of hours. The ocean is clear and welcoming. Shame about the hawkers that constantly try to sell things. Then 30mins ride back to stonetown. A great day out, our guide Jeff was a star and looked after each of us.
Awesome! Saw a lot of beautiful things. A nice driver Mohammed who drove us safely everywhere and guide Abdul who always guided us and gave a lot of explanation. Everything was great!
