What people are saying about Puerto de la Cruz
Really nice experience! Highly recommended! The staff picked us up earlier from the meeting so we didn't have to wait. We drove around the south part of the island (since that was our starting point) to pick up the rest of the people. Stop 1: Vilaflor, fantastic view, nice tranditional coffee, 15-20 min. Stop 2: Teide and around the volcano, interesting landscapes!. Stop 3: Garachico, photoshooting, 10 min. Stop 4: Icos de los Vinos, nice lunch, beautiful dragon tree, 1.5 h. Stop 5: Garachico (again), city walking and history. Stop 6: Masca, amazing mountainuous village, nice cactus ice-cream, walking, 20 min. The tour finishes there, but during driving they pass by other nice villages and banana plantations. Our guide was funny and gave many info for the history and life on the island. It was a realy nice scanning of the key places of Tenerife! I would do it again, but this time sitting at the inner seats of the bus since I am afraid of heights and Masca was a bit "scary" for me!
The 8 minute cable cars took us up to near the very top of mount Teide, the views above the clouds were simply outstanding, worth every penny , we were left to explore these stunning views with the options to walk on trails either left or right to further explore the views down into the valley and the coastline, then after about an hour we got the cable cars bak down, plenty of time to get food and drink in the restaurant and use toilet facilities before we boarded our coach. The guide was lvly and gave us lots of interesting information about the history of tiede and Tenerife , its formation and plenty of panaramic views which will last us a life time . I recommend this tour to anyone visiting tenerife that do not have any health issues as the air is very fresh and thin up there not appropriate for anyone with heart conditions though please read the guidance information carefully before booking .
The trip was very well organised - we were provided with a commentary in 3 languages and learned a lot about the island of Tenerife and Mount Teide. We had 2 photo stops on the way back that were well selected for their views. We got the tickets for the cable car and were able to see the great view from the top. If I was to include the only room for improvement, it was that there was not enough time for us to even go to the Pico Viejo viewing point - we had 1.5 hours to take the cable car there and back, but the cable car including the queue for it took 30 mins each way. We had to turn around from the walk to Pico Viejo before we got there, and had no time to explore the other side of the peak.
This was a great tour. Not only did you get to go to Teide, you got to see a lot of the small villages around. I feel like this is more of a North Tenerife tour than a Teide tour. The tour guide was super knowledgeable and attentive. I would recommend this if you love to see more of the island. Also, please check your junk mail for your pickup location. I didn’t see the email of where I was being picked up and missed the van, but I called them and they were quick to pick me up and drop me off at the tour!
It was a great experience and better than other tours I have done. Bernard proved a practiced driver around the narrow switch back road from Masca. Julian our guide was very firm but fair. He was very knowledgeable about the places and history but unfortunately spoke a little fast to catch all of what he said.
