Full description

After having been collected from your accommodation, you will begin your day out on the water to watch whales in their natural sanctuary.  You will visit a beautiful natural area aboard a certified boat out in the privileged waters of Samaná and Miches Bay. The whale watching sanctuary in Samana Bay is the winter home of a sea giant, an acrobat of the sea: the humpback whale. From January to March, these waters are their stage and refuge as they come here to give birth to their young or to find a partner to perpetuate their species through further generations. Expert guides will take you to enjoy this natural wonder aboard boats that are specially designed for this activity. As you observe these enormous and majestic beings (which can reach 53 feet in length and 40 tons in weight), you will learn more about their biology, ecology and behavior.

The trip was amazing! I would suggest bringing singles. For each activity there are workers who help you through each activity for ex. Horseback, bartenders, tour guide. It’s something I forgot to bring so just reminding you all. Also, the reason it’s a 4 and not 5 is bc during the horse trip some horse workers kept yelling and whipping their horse to go and that definitely made me feel bad for even being on them like that. Other than that make sure you eat a big breakfast bc lunch is not till 1 or 2. Bring sneakers and flip flops!! Also remember to breathe and embrace the water splashing you at the end beginning and end of the trip bc you will get wet! Overall great experience just a few quirks to smooth out.

Was a great tour, and there was actually a whale. As the guide said it’s a sea and not a aquarium. The guide provided information in 4 languages, (Spanish, English, French and German). So after a sandwich in the beginning of the tour, we went to the port where we where boarding the boat and went to the area where the whales can be spotted. Then we went to the Barcardi island for the lunch and to have a swim. Stayed there for around 45 minutes i think, time enough for the lunch. After we went with the boat to a Samoa island for a horse range to see a waterfall. That I found a bit less relaxed, the trail is very muddy and rocky so the horses have difficulty to get over the trail. The tour took longer then indicated, we had some trouble with one of the engines on the boat, but in all it was a great day. Thanks
