Full description

Undergo a unique underwater experience by snorkeling in the Silfra fissure on a half-day tour from Reykjavik. Frequently rated as one of the world's top 10 dive sites, Silfra offers up to 100 m (300 ft) of underwater visibility.

Admire views of Iceland's stunning landscape as you ride from Reykjavik to the heart of Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site. Snorkel in this location for 1 hour with your guide, before returning to the warmth of the tour van and heading back to Reykjavik.

The cold waters melt off a glacier 50 km (30 miles) away, and make their way through lava fields to beautiful Thingvellir Lake.

Although the chilly waters are too cold to support much in the way of marine life, Iceland's Silfra crack runs down between the American and European continental plates and offers amazing underwater views.

Amazing experience and wonderful view. The guides give instructions and set expectations clearly and you would feel really safe on this activity. You really need to wear good thermals esp socks and gloves coz it can get really cold. The guide assigned to us doesn’t really know how to use the gopro tho. So no great photos :(

Definitely worth a snorkel to do in Iceland. You don’t see something like this elsewhere. The water is crystal clear with almost no fish visible. It’s something quite unique between the tectonic plates of Europe and America. However it’s mighty cold but surprisingly you adjust to do. Make sure to bring thermal layers for underneath your wetsuit. They wouldn’t get wet but they are necessary.

Was an amazing experience and was added to by the great guides we had ! We had a great laugh and loved every second of it ! The drive out was informative and funny, and the gearing up process was absolutely freezing, however the professional, fun and friendly guide for our group, Guill, made everything so much easier and reassuring ! Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t easy to do in the middle of an Icelandic winter, and the sense of achievement afterwards is almost as rewarding as the hot chocolate provided ! Guill was brilliant with our group every step of the way, and cannot tell you how much he added to our experience :)
