Full description
Discover an oasis of tranquility in the west of Iceland and journey back to the land of myriad secrets and ancient landscapes. Make your way to the dramatic Snæfellsnes Peninsula, where mangled lava fields reveal the stresses and destruction the land once endured. Marvel at volcanic rocks of unimaginable shapes as they flare up in twisted forms from the earth. Take a walk beside the jagged cliffs of Arnarstapi and see the beautiful arcs of Hellnar, where pillars of basalt slowly ascend from the unforgiving sea. Take in the stunning backdrop of the summit of the Snæfellsjökull glacier. Journey along roads less traveled to find beaches of lava and smooth volcanic rock at Djupalónssandur. End on the north side of the peninsula at the high mountain of Kirkjufell. Then, journey back to Reykjavik with a new sense of calm and positive energy. Along the way, benefit from the extensive knowledge and experience of the guides. They will share not only the must-see sites but local knowledge, great stories and personal recommendations to make the most of your time in Iceland.

Our tour guide was Hatla (apologises on the spelling if incorrect) and it didn’t feel like a tour guide, more a friend. Right balance of talking and not. Got stuck in with us and helped others that were unease with the steep walking. Was very reasonable and understanding on the weather too - it was very windy and rainy but I’ve still given it 5 stars

Excellent trip, knowledgable guide. Full day tour with plenty of photo stops and rest room breaks. Tiring but worth it to get to see such spectacular scenery. Great lunch offered at restaurant - local cod (ordered en route by guide) but lotS of other options also available. Definitely recommend and the small group size is well worth the extra money.

we were so lucky to have incredible weather and our driver Bogi really made the trip...he was brilliant, so knowledgeable and told us so much about Iceland. it's a long day however well worth it because the scenery is just stunning. remember decent walking shoes as underfoot is on loose stone in some places. if you can only fo one trip do this one. if you can take your food and drink with you then you can spend the time at the stops enjoying the beautiful views rather than queueing or eating food in the cafe. Bogi really made this day very special
