Full description

Start the trip from a beautiful harbor in the city center and sail out to Kollafjöður, where you can see the island in the bay. Videy Island is known for the Lennon/One Peace tower, Richard Scerra's 'Milestones', and other attractions, along with great bird life.

Continue on to Faxaflói Bay, popular for whale and bird watching, sea angling, and also great fishing grounds. The mountain ring seen from the bay, among which Snaefellsjökull Glacier may be spotted on clear days, is particularly beautiful.

Highly recommend to update meeting point for those with booked online tickets. We never done the tour, so we followed the address on the app and email for meeting point. But it was wrong place.. we got to place where there is a ticket kiosk.. we waited for like 15 min.. but saw no people, just few.. then lady at kiosk told a customer, that she has to hurry to the boat as it is further away. We were lucky to overhear that conversation, or we would miss it. It was like 5-8 min walk.. so we had to run.. was not nice start. The rest was fine, we saw some minke whales, but nothing more, hoped for some humpback whales, but I understand it’s a luck no expectation:)

The tour went well and the crew was friendly. We saw several dolphins and puffins. Disappointment regarding the whales, we saw the backs of 2 whales peeking through. A bit pricey for what it is. An important point, the address given in the application is not the right one. The meeting point is rather at the level of the special Tours reception.

It was a good day and we were able to see quite a few whales. But what happens is that they look quite far away and only the back sticks out and they immediately go back in. In general, all good, especially very grateful that they put a guide in Spanish for us because there was a large South American group.
