We met in Skaftafell, got our equipment and then, due to Covid 19 regulations, drove to the glacier in our own cars. When we arrived at the glacier, we were divided into 3 groups (approx. 11 people per group). Our tour guide told us a lot about glaciers and their demise and disappearance. We were on the glacier for about 2 hours, looked at different features of a glacier and drank glacier water the Viking way. Overall it was a very nice experience, I felt safe with my guide at all times and I am grateful that I was able to have this experience. The hike is not very demanding, but mountain boots are a prerequisite, but they can also be hired.

Machello, our guide as so knowledgeable about all aspects of the glacier, it made the hike much more interesting. He was also especially patient with my sister who was not a hiker. He stayed with her and helped her hiked up the steep parts of the terrain. Without Machello, my sister would not have completed the hike. He made her day. Thanks much Machello. It should be noted that the tour was conducted by the tour company Trell. Get your guide is the middleman.

The guide was really good, but overall organization of the company not so good. We ended up going yo a different glacier because the one in the description is not available and we were not warned up front and when arriving at the meeting point we find out that they won't transport us until glacier but we need to go in our own cars and just follow them. Also this was not mentioned. Everything else was perfect. The guide Marcelo explained a lot, made you feel secure and made the experience enjoyable.
