Full description
In a small group, explore Snæfellsnes peninsula. Walk along the seashore near Arnarstapi and view this tiny fishing village from afar.  Next, you'll visit rock formations formed by the sea at Lóndrangar. You'll notice that Djúpalónssandur's pebbled beach is also the site of a 1948 shipwreck. For centuries, fishermen rowed out to the Atlantic Ocean from here. Try one of the "lifting stones" to see if your strength measures up! Then, check out Saxhóll Volcano, formed in an eruption nearly 4,000 years ago. For spectacular views of the lava formations and the national park, you can climb to the top via stairway. At the end, you’ll visit one of Iceland’s most famous mountains - Kirkjufell. You’ll recognize the hat shape when you see it. For the best view, walk around its circular path and see Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall.  Fun Fact: Kirkjufell appeared in Game of Thrones (Season 6 and 7) as ”Arrowhead mountain.”

what a day Start in a storm and hardly any visibility in Reykjavik and hardly in Borganes for the first stop in the sun. An all-round successful day with a great tour guide who made the trip between the stops very entertaining with all sorts of information and stories. The sun accompanied us all day until evening back in Reykjavik. You see so much breathtaking landscape that you still dream of it months later.

Great tour + lovely guide. The weather wasn’t the best on the day of our tour (heavy snow!) but we still managed to visit most of the stops including an additional one to meet some Icelandic ponies. Our guide was very informative and told us lots of local stories throughout the bus journey. The scenery is amazing and is definitely worth visiting. Definitely recommend this tour, great value for money.

...the peninsula is actually one of the must-see's... it's a somewhat longer tour out of reykjavik, but once you've reached kirkjufell, it's one after the other - great landscape, volcanic craters (also jules vernes "entrance"), colonies of birds, colonies of seals, bizarre black beaches, fields of lava, picturesque coastal towns ... of all the tours we've done, definitely the longest route and you just rush past a lot of great scenery, but overall it's getting on stopped at the most interesting places, there is then enough time to discover and walk around...
