We were informed of our pick-up time the previous evening and it was confirmed by the driver on the morning of our transfer (I was even sent a Waze link so that I could see exactly where the vehicle was). We stopped for a quick ‘comfort break’ on the way. I was impressed with the overall efficiency of the transfer.

The transfer was fairly comfortable with a couple of stops for the toilet and food. It felt pretty seamless at the end as once we arrived in Angra, the speedboat was sitting and ready for us. However, I had to wait over an hour from the agreed meet time on my own in the street, which didn’t make me feel super safe!

We were picked up at 12:30 and were on the island at 17:45. Be prepared that it may take a long time to wait for other passengers to be picked up. If you live in Barra, you are last, which I recommend. The trip was fine. The car could be cleaner. All in all, a safe and cheap option to get to the island. They use whatsap for communication, so download the app. The communication with the operator was great.
