Full description
Enjoy an immersive experience in Catholic tradition, see Pope Francis himself and learn the unique history of the Vatican City. Join this tour for Wednesday Papal Audience. The Audience represents a very intense point of contact between the Pope and the faithful coming from the four corners of the world. Pope Francis and the Cardinals will pass through the crowd to reach the stage and then greet and bless people in different languages, with hymns and homilies. With reserved pre-booked tickets for this extremely popular event, a coordinator will help you access the best possible seats as well as an audio device. The Audience may be celebrated in the majestic venue of St. Peter’s Square or in the dedicated Nervi Hall, according to Vatican schedule. In St. Peter's Square, you will also walk close to the monumental Castel Sant'Angelo and along Via della Conciliazione, in order to reach St. Peter's in the background and pass the security check-points to the Vatican City. The coordinator will tell you the stories and the secrets of the Vatican, suggest where to sit and help you have a smooth arrival despite the crowds. Then, at the end of the Audience, about 11:30-11:45 am, you will meet the coordinator again in Via della Conciliazione 48, with a refreshing complimentary bottle of water and to return the audio device.  Papal Audience tickets are free but are in very high demand. Planning your own arrival to this event could be very difficult. Book in advance with this tour to ensure you get to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. You may also choose to combine this special morning with an afternoon visit of the nearby charming Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums, or of the other icon of Rome: the Colosseum.

The meeting point was easy to find and a very manageable place. the guides were very friendly and competent and could speak German very well. In order to shorten the waiting time we received a lot of information about the Vatican and Rome, that was very informative. The tour guides tried very hard to get us good seats for the audience, that worked out great. Conclusion: a very good opportunity for everyone who doesn't know their way around Rome and still wants to go to an audience at short notice and not alone! Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Unfortunately, the trip was organized too late (one hour) - at least in the summer / holiday season. The audience took place in the Auditorium. When we got there, it turned out that there were already a lot of people. We stood in a long line to enter the audience. The guide did not know exactly what the audience looked like and did not quite know which places were the best. She also said that we were to meet at the fountain at a given time. There was a slight misunderstanding as part of the group was waiting for the Pope to leave the Aula. The second part of the group together with the Guide left after the Pope's Blessing. We had to take the radios to the given address.

Walking tour through Rome to Vatican

Picked up from our hotel, we were driven to the meeting point to join the rest of the tour group. We were a large group (25+) walking through the streets of Rome passing by iconic sites along the way. Our guide was friendly but due to the size of the group and a faulty mic system that cut out more then it cut in, I heard next to nothing he had to say. Still it was a pleasant morning walk through the city. The tour concludes at the Vatican and from there we were on our own to make our way back.
