Full description

Explore the most famous amphitheater in the world on this guided tour. Enter the Colosseum with skip-the-line tickets and learn its incredible history. With your guide, walk on Palatine Hill and through the Roman Forum to see the most iconic monuments of Ancient Rome.

Start your tour by admiring the outside of the Colosseum. Listen as your guide explains the history of the monument over the centuries. Enter the Amphitheater, through a security check, and discover the spectacular activities that took place inside it.

Visit the first floor to admire the interior. Observe the reconstructed portion of the arena and the underground system from above. Go downstairs to have a closer look at the arena and basement floor. End where the emperor's box was located, which housed his family and his guests of honor.

Then, take a moment to stop in front of the imposing Arch of Constantine as your guide describes its history and most significant features. Walk on the ancient Via Sacra to reach the entrance to Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. After the security check, admire the Arch of Titus up close.

Continue with the tour of Palatine Hill, where the remains of the oldest settlement in the city are. Visit some of the most significant imperial residences: the Palatine Stadium, the Domus Augustana, and the Domus Flavia.

Next, go down to the valley that hosts the Roman Forum. Along the Via Sacra, discover the magnificence of the Basilica of Maxentius, the bronze door of the temple of Romulus, the curious suspended door of the temple of Antoninus and Faustina, the temple, and the house of the Vestals.

Finally, arrive in the central area of the Roman Forum, which over the centuries has become the political, religious, economic, legal center, and square of the ancient city. Here, admire and learn about the Curia, the Arch of Septimius Severus, the Tabularium, the temple of Saturn, and more.

Ginny our guide was clear, concise, accomodating and very informative. She made the information very interesting and gave us this information in bite size pieces together with back up pictures to demonstrate her facts. She was also considerate of keeping is out of the direct sun for as long as possible. We would highly recommend her and the tour to others. Thank you

Although the tour itself was great for experiencing the iconic Roman sites with a more in depth understanding of the history. It was too fast paced that we didn’t feel we had long enough to experience the Colosseum. Photo stops also felt rushed. These are people’s dreams to tick off their bucket list, the least you can do is allow time to capture memories before a guide rushes off and you have to run after them. For example, we never got to experience the bottom level, just walked straight out to the exit. No time for toilet breaks either. If we had to do it again, we would book tickets to do it all on our own pace and keep to a morning time slot as it was not as crowded as it can get. In saying all this, it would depend on the tour guide you get, we saw other tour guides from the same company being more engaging and humorous. Also judging by other reviews, there are guides more in tune with what their group wants.

It was amazing and so informative. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and also funny! My girlfriend and I absolutely loved our experience and would book with the same tour guide again if we ever get the chance. His knowledge in Rome and the history of the Colosseum is incredible. Fantastic tour. Would be missing out on amazing information if we did not book this so we are so thankful to have had this experience. Once in a lifetime.
