Full description

Take a unique Colosseum tour with Arena floor access, a comprehensive tour that includes the central floor of the Colosseum, plus Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum – all with premium skip-the-line access.

Enter the arena where all the juicy action happened, and learn how on a big day of festivities, this 87x55m patch of dust was the beating heart of Ancient Rome. Close your eyes whilst standing in the center and picture the cheers and the drama of the time of the gladiators.

Move on to the next stop, Palatine Hill, after a 30-minute break. See the grassy peak of Palatine hill, upon which Romulus is said to have founded the city of Rome almost 3000 years ago.

Explore the place that the Roman Emperors chose as the spot for some of the finest and most spectacular palaces the ancient world ever saw.

Explore the Roman Forum, centuries ahead of the rest of the world in terms of its cultural significance, this teeming hub of philosophers, scientists, lawmakers, Pontiffs, and commoners was the brains behind Ancient Rome.

Wrap up the tour in the forum, roam freely through the Forum or head off for some local food and drink, and the guide will be happy to offer recommendations.

This tour was unreal!!! Going underground at the Colo was the best decision we made. It was obviously extra money than the normal tour, but so worth it!! We went to the areas you go on a normal tour, but then also stood right in the middle and went underneath where they kept the animals etc. So cool! Was honestly one of the best experiences of my life

Harry and the Carpe Diem team were awesome - they went out of the way to help find a last minute space for an underground tour (as we only had 2 days in Rome it was super important). Tour was excellent, it really felt like we had explored the whole of the Colosseum not just a part of it. Giovanni, our guide, shared such interesting stories about the Colosseum's background. He was well versed in its history, story, and architeture.

An extraordinary tour. I never had learned as much - or had as much fun learning - as we did on this fantastic tour. Our guide Paolo was enthusiastic, thoughtful and extremely informed (this was obvious when he was able to answer basically anything the group asked). Also I was so glad I chose to go with the UNDERGROUND tour over the regular one, because it was so cool!! We went to 2 areas the public aren't allowed, it was so worth the money. I booked quite a few tours with Carpe Diem Rome and they were all fantastic!
