Visit one of Rome's most iconic attractions on a guided tour of the Colosseum. Learn about the rich history of this place, hear tales about the games that took place here, and enter through the gladiator gate to access the arena floor.

Walk through the back door of the Colosseum and pass straight onto the arena floor through the gate named after Libitina, the goddess of funerals. Tread where dead gladiators and animals were once carried away.

Feel the majesty of ancient Rome beneath your feed as you stroll over the steps of those who fought in gladiatorial combat. Enjoy astonishing 360-degree views of the Colosseum. Look up at ruins that were once filled with thousands of spectators.

Step onto the podium reserved for the most important Romans over the main entrance to the Arena and feel the thrill of the amphitheater. Let your guide paint you a picture of the past with engaging stories and legends.

Very much enjoyed the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable, pleasant, personable and respectful of her tourists. She took her time walking keeping the pace steady but manageable allowing time for pictures and questions. The addition of pictures added to her info. Appreciated very much that the tour was delayed slightly until we were able to find the rendezvous point as we got lost getting there. The phone number provided helped us tremendously. The Coliseum itself was spectacular and so interesting even though it going through some major renovations. Definitely worth visiting. Strongly recommend a tour guide to get the most out of it.

Booking a tour in advance comes with risks, like torrential downpours, and thunder. Which is how we toured the Coliseum this week. Shoes and socks soaked through within 10 minutes, wind and rain whipping so hard we could barely hear the guide with our radios turned all the way up...and we still LOVED it. What an amazing, awe-inspiring experience. Our guide gave us so much great info, and was seriously trying so hard to make it a great tour despite the unfortunate weather. We'd recommend going to see this if you're ever in Rome, and do it with a guide so you get all the history and background information that you just can't get from movies or internet info. Seeing, touching, and immersing yourself in this wonder is well worth the money. Also, great pizza around the corner - with wine, of course, because...when in Rome!

We have rated this tour as 4* due to the wording and struggling to locate the meeting point - the tour advised '"Meet your guide at the Italy With Family office. The office is located on the second floor near the metro station and just around the corner from Caffè Roma." We did locate the building but ascending a staircase to a tourist apartment and office and struggled to locate the Italy with Family office - the office is actually in the a tourist agency (ultimate italy) with a different name covering multiple tour operators. The guide Simona was excellent - a group of about 15 were on the tour - and she explained everything very well. What was most important to our time constraint tour was getting ahead of the queues to access the venue and we did successfully. We highly recommend Simona. Her English was superb! W
