Full description

Escape the crowds of the Colosseum and Vatican, and explore the darker side of Rome on a guided tour of the ancient catacombs and crypts. Venture to parts of the city that few visitors ever see, traveling between sites by air-conditioned minibus. First, follow your guide to 3 memorable sites, each revealing the extraordinary secrets of Ancient Rome. They include the labyrinthine Roman Catacombs that were part burial ground and part refuge for the persecuted early Christians of Ancient Rome. Then, visit the Capuchin Crypt, known locally as the “Bone Chapel,” and marvel at the walls, decorated with the bones more than 4,000 monks. To finish out the day in style, visit perhaps one of the most spectacular sites in all of Rome - the Roman Aqueducts. Enjoy time to explore and understand this monumental landmark from a stunning vantage point.

Your was very good! Only thing that was very disappointing was at the end of the tour you are not dropped back off at the pick up point, meaning on top of the money we had already spent we had to pay a further 20 euro to get back to the city centre .. this was not mentioned at the time off booking.

We had a wonderful tour. Group was easy to find. Main asset was our guide Hileria who was full of knowledge and price for her city. I do not think there is a building in Rome she could not tell you an interesting story about. I would love to walk around with her again

What an interesting tour. Our tour guide, Rhianne, was excellent. She was so knowledgeable about the art we saw, and she interspersed stories about Roman history into the places we were seeing. I also liked that this tour took place mostly in cooler (catacombs) or air conditioned (crypts, the bus) locations. The Roman aqueducts, while located in the hot outdoors, are a marvel to see.
