Full description
Learn how to make Italian homemade pasta during this Fettuccine making experience in Rome. Upon arrival you will be welcomed with a glass of prosecco. This is the time to introduce yourself and meet the other participants of the class. After that, you will start to work your own dough. Discover all the secrets of the dough, from the flour to the cutting. The local chef will guide you, step by step, from using flour and egg, to the cutting of your fettuccine.  The chef will show you the various types of cut you could make with this recipe: tagliolini, pappardelle, fettuccine, and maltagliati or “badly cut”. You will cut your own fettuccine and then you will choose the sauce for your pasta, such as carbonara, amatriciana, cacio e pepe, alfredo, etc. After that, you will sit down and enjoy an appetizer of bruschetta with tomatoes and basil, sipping a good glass of wine. Then, you will tuck into your homemade creation for lunch or dinner. Conclude your meal with a glass of limoncello.

We booked the cooking class in Rome on the last day of our trip. The experience was very well organized, we loved the host and enjoyed the activity very much. However, I want to make a few suggestions for a future references. 1st of all, the directions to the place were not clear at all, we didn't have a phone/GPS service except of where wifi is available. Therefore, would be very helpful to have more specific directions.. the host sent us the bus number and the name of the bus stop we should get off, then said "you just take a stroll".. that was it. The "stroll" took us about 30 min wandering streets and asking tourists around who mostly have no clue what we are looking for. Secondly, when we finally arrived to the place, we were told that the big group of 10 people is running late. Ended up waiting for them for 1/2 hour, the host was very nice and appologetic, and we have started the activity without them.

It was freezing outside and I was there like half an hour before, but they were nice enough to let me get in before.! The other members were so kind and friendly. About the workshop itself, the host was really good at explaining the techniques , in a nice tempo. I would definitely do this again!

The pasta making was fun, and a great activity for my little boy on our recent trip to Rome. The food provided for the meal however was quite average (and not very kid-friendly: tiramisu with no substitution offered etc), and this was the only slight disappointment. The pasta was delicious though! Would defo do again but maybe go for a simpler meal option.
