Full description
Start your 3-hour walking tour of Rome at the Vatican City and enter St. Peter’s Basilica to admire the art and architecture of the largest and most prestigious Catholic church in the world. Marvel at art by Michelangelo, Bramante and other artists through the centuries. Take time to absorb the sumptuous interior, adorned by enormous mosaics and some of the greatest art in the world. Continue to Castel Sant’Angelo, built in the Roman era but later converted into a papal prison in the 14th century and a place of political intrigue and capital punishment before becoming the city museum of today. Cross the bridge to the monument to admire the imposing marble sculptures that flank its walls. Make your way over to Piazza Navona to see Bernini’s famous Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers). Hear curious stories about the square from your knowledgeable guide. Next, stroll over to the delightful square of Santa Maria della Rotonda, home to the Pantheon, where the legenday perforated dome remains the largest ever built. Take in the characteristics of Rome’s historical center as you walk to the Campo de’ Fiori, a square much loved by the locals for its charming atmosphere, live music and historical value. Learn about the Campo de' Fiori's colorful past, such as how heretics were burnt there during the Inquisition, including the philosopher Giordano Bruno whose bronze statue now dominates the square. End with a tasting of some of Rome’s delicious local foods and excellent wines in a quaint spot on the square.

I enjoyed every part of it.

We booked this tour mainley because we wanted to visit the Basilica. We entered by three pm, at that time there was no line and the basilica itself was less crowded. We had plenty of time to take pictures. The information that the guide delivered was of great interest. Overall it was very good, to top it off the food tasting at the end of the tour was delicious.
