Full description
Rome wasn’t built in a day, but that doesn’t mean you can’t see it in one. This combo tour covers all the significant milestones in Rome’s history and culture, from the founding of the city to the work of its early modern architectural titans. The tour begins at the Colosseum, where your expert guide will walk you straight inside, past the line. As you wander the first and second levels of this 82,000-capacity ancient amphitheater, you’ll hear stories of gladiators and emperors, wild hunts and deadly duels. Next, see Rome’s oldest ruins at the birthplace of the city itself: the Palatine Hill. From here you’ll have an unmatched view of the next stop — the Roman Forum. All of Roman life mingled in this marketplace, and with Skip-the-Line Access here too, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy your guide’s tales of deals, parades and sacred ceremonies. With the ancient leg of the tour done, you’ll get to satisfy your appetite at your choice of local eatery, before beginning a journey into the Renaissance. You’ll meet your new guide, an English-speaking expert on Renaissance Rome, and set off to see the greatest monuments to the period: Bernini’s "Fountain of Four Rivers", the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, and finally the magnificent Pantheon, an engineering marvel even by today’s standards, and home to the tomb of the Renaissance master Raphael.

Not an 8 hour walk but enjoyable

This is is actually 2 separate tours. The morning is colosseum mostly - note u cat take water in and don't take the guards advice of using the fountains - u can buy water in the gift shop. My husband became v ill after drinking water from the fountain. U have 2 hours after the morning to get yourself to the second part of your- we walked and on the way passed trevi and Spanish steps. We couldn't understand how it would take 3.5 hours to walk around these and the pantheon so didn't do the afternoon tour. But the morning was c good and our guide was excellent

Well worth the time and money

We booked the full day walking tour of Rome for 4 adults, aging from 19 to 47. Everyone found it extremely interesting and informative. We could have seen the sites without a guide but you lose out on all of the interesting facts you only learn from the guides. Orso brought us around the Coloseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Paolo brought us around the city showing us the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Panthenon and more. Both were excellent guides, and really nice and friendly. We stopped for lunch for 2 hours which gave us time to eat and then find the next meeting point. Paolo gave us great advice of where to eat away from the tourist areas, the Trastavere quarter is very nice full of small streets, bars, restaurants and people! I would highly recommend this tour
