Full description
Take part in one of the best winter activities in Finland with an unforgettable 1-hour husky sled ride. Meet adorable huskies and steer your own team through the fascinating scenery of snowy Lapland. Start by receiving driving and safety instruction in the husky kennel and then take your place in the sled and to begin to steer your own husky team through the Arctic forest.  Drive for approximately 6-10 km through beautiful landscapes alongside an experienced musher who will guide the tour. Take a break in the middle to take great pictures with the cute four-legged friends. Once back in the kennel, warm up inside a traditional Kota (wood cabin) by the fire and learn more about the training and daily life of huskies as you enjoy a small Finnish barbecue that includes sausage (makkara), cookies, and hot juice.

Unforgettable experience and highlight of my trip to Finland. From start to finish tour guides where very attentive and professional, even being extra accommodating with our pick-up point . A good induction of instructions of hand signals used while driving the huskies was given beforehand, also answering any questions or uncertainties about the husky self drive ride. Activity itself was amazing and something I will never forget. Well worth paying the extra money it costs for the additional time driving the huskies compared to the other trip operators. I loved the intimacy of the trip due to the fact that there was only my family and another couple doing the husky sledge ride. After the activity the was time allowed to see the huskies close up and take pictures and ask any questions. Following this was some hot juice and sausages cooked over a coal fire served in a cosy wooden hut before being taken back to our pick-up point. Thank you Parpalandia Oy for a wonderful experience

A totally special experience. I couldn’t recommend more highly! It is easy to find, then you get wrapped up in the necessary gear (thermal onesie etc.), have a MAGICAL ride that is made all the better by the beautiful dogs (clearly loved and well looked after). You can have sausages and warm berry tea after too. Thank you again for a thoroughly enjoyable experience!

Es war ein traumhafter Ausflug! Ein Abholen im Santa Claus Village war kein Problem. Nach ca. 30-40min Autofahrt in unmittelbarer Nähe eines Nationalparks ist man an der Husky-Station angekommen. Unterwegs haben wir viele Erläuterungen unseres Fahrers bekommen. Bei Bedarf gibt es kostenlose Overalls, Handschuhe oder Stiefel. Nach einer kurzen Einweisung ging es los. Wir waren zu Dritt mit einem 5jährigen Kind. Die erste Person stand hinten auf dem Schlitten, die anderen beiden saßen im Schlitten. Nach der Hälfte der Strecke wurde gestoppt und getauscht. Die Fahrt ging durch eine traumhafte Winterlandschaft. Nach ca. 40-45min Fahrt sind wir wieder an der Basis angekommen. Danach hatte wir ausgiebig Zeit mit den Hunden. Die Hunde sind sehr lieb und mochten es sehr gestreichelt zu werden. Zum Abschluss gab in einer Hütte gegrillte Würstchen und Tee. Im Anschluss zurück nach Rovaniemi. Es hat allen sehr gut gefallen! Vielen Dank an alle Beteiligte!
