Full description
Head to an Arctic forest roughly 20 kilometers from the city center to experience the traditional Finnish sauna in the forest. The experience of the sauna is such an important part of Finnish culture, that it can’t be compared to anything else. For centuries, it has been a place for physical and spiritual cleansing. Dipping into icy lakes and rolling in the snow are said to be good for your blood circulation, but most people do them simply for the incredible rush. Head to an amazing outdoor forest location to try your hand at winter swimming in the icy water. Raise your head to catch a glimpse of the magical Northern Lights. After the sauna experience, head to the frozen lake to hunt the Northern Lights while you enjoy a cup of hot drinks.

The activity begun with our guide picking us from our bnb and drove us to a cozy cabin somewhere in the woods. We were then given towels, bathrobe, slippers and we headed towards a traditional wooden build private sauna in front of a huge lake. It was preheated and we were given 60mins. We could take a dip in ice cold water and go back to warm our bodies a couple of times. It was a very refreshing and rejuvenating experience and we enjoyed it thoroughly. However, 60mins felt a bit short and also the activity felt a bit pricey for those short 60mins. But, it was still a great experience and should definitely be tried atleast once.

Analiza, Jaime, Christian were so kind and picked up us perfectly. Thanks to them, the tour was worth it. The experience of Sauna was so good and its location was perfect. Luckily, we watched auroras doing the sauna! Such a wonderful day with this activity:)

We landed in Rovaniemi, and after check in headed straight for this sauna experience. We got a private cabin with our family, pre-heated, where we could start 1h30 - 1h45. Plently of time to relax. For our kids it was a first sauna experience, and for us a first to roll in the snow - and for the ones who dare take a dip in the froozen lake. The cabine is 35-40min drive from the city, on a desolated lake. If the weather allows, and if you know what you are looking for, there should be a good chance to spot northern lights. We were not lucky. After the sauna, we were served berry juice, cookies and sausages. Contrary to other activities of the same agency, these sausages where not tasty at all
