    Explore the heart of the city of Salzburg. Starting at Palace Mirabell, you will explore the sights here. The palace was built under the reign of the famous baroque Prince Archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Reitenau for his mistress Salome Alt and their 15 children. At the Makartplatz, next to the Palace Mirabell, you will see the Mozart Residence. You will explore the New Town and this side of the river before crossing the bridge “Makartsteg” to arrive at the Old Town of Salzburg. While here we will get to Salzburg’s most famous street, the Getreidegasse, which is especially renowned for its wrought-iron trade signs and Mozart’s Birthplace.

    Stroll through Salzburg’s Old Town to admire its historic buildings, such as the medieval apartments and churches that were built from the Middle Ages to the baroque time, and conclude the tour with a panoramic view from Mönchsberg Hill with a free guide (optional).

    Julia is an excellent guide. She loves Salzburg and had so much information about the history of the town, Mozart and of course the Sound of music movie. She is passionate about Salzburg and made the tour really enjoyable and fun. The 2.5 hours flew by. We would highly recommend this tour.

    Leuke wandeltocht door het centrum maar er wordt voornamelijk veel verteld over de geschiedenis. Lastige was dat we een Engelse gids hadden gevraagd. Onze lieve gids was super maar de groep was Duits en het was voor haar lastig om steeds te schakelen aangezien Duits ook niet haar moedertaal was.

    The tour covered almost all landmarks and important spots in both the old and new town. If you want to visit as many touristic sites, given your limited time, I would recommend this tour. Our tour guide is friendly and knowledgeable, although her English could have been a bit better. Nevertheless, she was able to give us a lot of information and drew our attention to some hidden scenes/buildings that I would have ignored otherwise.
