Begin your journey of discovery of the magical surroundings of Salzburg, in Mozartplatz. From there, ride across Residenzplatz, Domplatz to the Festspielhaus, and further to the Salzach. See one of the most beautiful views of the old town on the Müllner Steg bridge. Then, enjoy the view over the Mirabell Garden to the Festung Hohensalzburg, a well-known but always impressive sight.
After a longer ride along the Salzach River, cross the river to Nonntal and stop to view an 8th-century female convent Nonnberg Abbey. On small side streets and cycle paths, head to Hellbrunner Allee and Hellbrunn Palace. A shady path with old trees goes for 2.8 kilometers past stately homes such as the impressive Schloss Freisaal and Schloss Fronburg. Make a short stop in the park at Hellbrunn Palace to refresh your feet in the Kneipp pool. Marvel at the modern art in the park and enjoy the 400-year-old complex with the beautiful palace and colorful flowers.
Continue your ride and pass various residential districts with views of the Untersberg to the Leopoldskron Palace. Overlooking the Untersberg, the path leads to Schloss Leopoldskron. After cycling around a little lake, discover great photograph opportunities. The 200-year-old estate, now known as a Schloss Hotel, has been a film location for different movies and has a long interesting history.
Discover beautiful homes and gardens next to the Almkanal, a little canal with turquoise water from the Königssee. Travel over a small hill back to the city and Mozart Square. Treat yourself to your last look to the Alps, the Untersberg mountain, and find a spectacular view over the old town to Mirabellgarden and Kapuzinerberg.
