    Your fully guided 3-hour tour takes you through the heart of North Beach and not only features great food but exposes you to the bawdy history of this neighborhood that was known as the Barbary Coast during the Gold Rush. On this 4-course progressive prix-fixe dining experience, you will visit 4 restaurants for two appetizers, one entree, and one dessert, with a sprinkling of culinary history and stories in between.  Enjoy authentic Italian wood-fired pizza from the oldest pizza oven on the West Coast, voted the third best pizza in the USA by People Magazine’s Pizza Search. Following this, enjoy contemporary kale chips and vegan sampler in former Amelio’s, a historic North Beach restaurant and speakeasy, host of Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe’s wedding dinner. Then, taste sweet and savory local artisan agave caramel and caramel popcorn at a neighborhood gourmet food boutique. Finally, watch an Italian expert cannoli maker fill your delicate cannoli at a historic Italian bookshop turned cafe.

    Learned about San Francisco along with good food and social time!

    Tolan was very enthusiastic and we could tell she loved introducing us to North Beach. It was fun to socialize with the other couples on the tour while eating some good food: (1) Cioppino at Sotto Mare ; (2) Charcuterie at Doc Rickett's ; (3) Tomasso's Pizza was the entree and was excellent; (4) delicious Gelato at Naia. Short walks between stops were pleasant. My wife, Anne, and I are from Ottawa, Canada and we were visiting our son who is now working in San Francisco. He lives in the the North Beach neighborhood and loves it. Verify meeting location with Avital as our GetYourGuide voucher did not have the right meeting location.

    Tour was very informative and the food was amazing!!

    There was a mess up on the place we were supposed to meet but our tour guide, Maria, was kind enough to both contact us to see where we were and even waited for us. My husband and I greatly enjoyed ourselves.
