The Service runs every 20 minutes during high season, and every 30 minutes during low season

    Know before you go

    • A complete loop (without hopping off and on) lasts approximately 2.5 hours. The tour operates daily from 9 AM-5 PM. Every 10-15 minutes in summer and 20-30 minutes in winter. Start or finish the tour at any of the stops along the route
    • The night tour operates nightly at 6:30 PM, lasts 1-1.5 hours, and is not a hop-on hop-off tour
    • There are no tours on Thanksgiving, December 24, and December 31. There are no night tours on July 4
    • Most of the open-top coaches are American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant: scooters, wheelchairs, bikes, and strollers are allowed. Please call the Visitor Center 24 hours in advance for a schedule of buses that are ADA-accessible
    • The weather can change quickly in San Francisco. Bring a warm sweater or jacket

    We lived in the San Francisco area for most of our lives, but moved to be close to our kids and grandchildren ten years ago. We wanted to our city again but with the hassle. This tour was great. Just seeing all the old neighborhoods again brought back so many memories. A memorable day.

    First off, this Bus line is an excellent idea and saves countless miles of walking. As long as you get a seat on the top deck, you will hear the audio guide best and see the sights best. Sitting below, some of the windows were filthy and we couldn’t see out of them. It’s also very hot below and no air conditioning was available. Also, the map doesn’t match the stops in areas.

    If you’re planning to visit or site see San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas or other cities, the red Big Bus is the way to go. You can get in and get out of the bus. Two days pass is needed if you want to stop on all locations in San Francisco and it’s cheaper too. Since we got on and off in different spots, some Red Big Bus drivers drive smoothly while some drove rough.
