Feel like a true explorer on an off-the-beaten-path tour in the heart of the El Yunque Rainforest. Avoid big crowds as you blaze a trail to the lesser-known attractions of the lush tropical rainforest. The initial hike is a 25-30 minute journey up a rock and dirt path with some river wading. This trail is surrounded by bamboo trees, rainforest flowers, and many other beautiful plants. Visit a collecting pool that forms at the base of a waterfall. Here you will have the opportunity to swim in its crystal clear waters and admire the colors of its deep pools. Enjoy the cascades of the waterfall and take the opportunity to snap pictures. Continue exploring the rainforest and end your adventure in another pool area, the rainforest's best-kept secret. After a few minutes of hiking, arrive at a river where you can swim, swing from a rope into the river, and enjoy natural water slides.

My family had an amazing trip to El Yunque. We did the off the beaten path tour and it was phenomenal. Jaimes and Luis our guides were very friendly and knowledgeable about the rainforest. They let the group go at our own pace and ensured our safety throughout the adventure. It was such an incredible experience for me, my husband, and our 13 year old daughter. We got to slide off a waterfall, slide down a natural rock slide, rock jumping, and rope swinging. I highly recommend this tour. They picked us up from our hotel at the stated time and drove us straight to the rainforest. After our trip we had a lunch stop. If booking this tour, wear sturdy water shoes and a comfortable swimsuit. Also, bring enough cash for lunch. By far our favorite day in Puerto Rico.

George Louis and Mitchell and team were so amazing !!! We had such an amazing experience. Initially my boyfriend was scared but hound found himself very comfortable very quickly. He even jumped off a super high cliff ! We will definitely be looking forward to booking this next time we are in amazing Puerto Rico!!

Loved this tour! It was so good, I’d do it multiple times. The hike is for real - and you will get muddy, but it all pays off when you get to the water slide, rope swing and the chance to do cliff jumps (optional). There are two things I’d call out as exceptional: 1. The safety - this particular tour provides helmets and life jackets, and they take extra care in making sure everyone is supported based on their individual abilities. 2. The staff - there were three guides that looked out for us - George was our main guy and he’s warm, funny, and told us great stories as we hiked our way through the rainforest. Christian was our bus driver was sweet and friendly, and was always extending a hand out to those who needed it along the journey. And finally, our lifeguard Tarzan — yes, this trip is so awesome, they even provide a personal lifeguard to ensure there are no issues in the river or swimming holes. There were even people who didn’t know how to swim that felt secure!
