After gathering with your group and guide in San Sebastian, take the train to Zumaia where your tour will begin as you move between the narrow medieval streets and buildings of the little village. This area is famous for having the most incredible cliffs of the Basque coast, and whilst there you will not only learn about the history of the unique place but also the geology of the region. You will also be able to observe hidden fossils as you walk through them. The next stop on your tour will be Itzurun beach at the UNESCO Geopark. Receive a first-hand experience of the many rocks and unique layers. This stop will be followed by a walk around the iconic "Ermita de San Telmo” for sightseeing, and last but not least, you will visit the rocky cove of Algorri, where secrets of dinosaurs and biodiversity that have evolved through millions of years will be revealed To finish your experience, you will be guided to a family-run tavern to have a drink of your choice. You will be able to try for example a glass of local Txakoli white wine.

Angel was a great guide! He showed up on time to meet us and was very friendly. He’s very knowledgeable about geology and the rock formation of the area and I loved learning about the history of it all. The sites were beautiful… incredible views!!! I was blown away. Be prepared to walk a lot and hike. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes! I thought I was going to be able to swim in the ocean but there was no break for that which was a bummer. But overall, great tour. You’re going to learn a lot about geology! Oh and the beer at the end was the perfect way to end the tour!!!!
