Lisbon: Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré & Óbidos Private Day Tour

2. Lisbon: Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré & Óbidos Private Day Tour

The tour begins at 8:30 with a pick-up from your Hotel. This ensures enough time to enjoy the program without any hurry.  This private tour focuses on Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré, Óbidos and it's main monuments and attractions. Nevertheless this program can be changed to best suit your preferences as it is solely for the purpose of your enjoyment. Head directly to Fátima, an approximately 1 hour trip in which you'll get to see the magnificence of both the old and the new sanctuaries where 250,000 people pray at the famous candle processions in the main historical dates, the 13th of May and the 13th of October. Next, visit the Monastery of Batalha, one of the most emblematic gothic buildings in Portugal, built as a gift for the victory in the Battle of Aljubarrota which took place around 2 kilometers away. There will be time to visit the battle grounds before heading to Nazaré.  Proceed to the wave sighting area, and admire the view of the village from atop the cliff where the main Sanctuary of Nazaré is. There will also be a free time to lunch in one of the many seafood restaurants where the best fish and seafood in the world can be tasted.  After lunch head to Óbidos, a beautifully preserved medieval village where you will taste the famous Ginginha (Cherry Liquor) in a chocolate cup, and have time to stroll through the village with its magnificent castle and buy some souvenirs.  Return to the hotel is at approximately 6:30 PM.

This was an incredible experience! Fatima was beautiful (had time to explore the square, cathedral, and experience an outdoors service). Obidos is a gorgeous fortress with tons of shops. Batalha is a stunning Cathedral (however unfinished). Finally Nazaré has an amazing beach with stunning views. Overall the tour guide/driver did a wonderful job giving brief overview about every individual place with a lovely experience of trying Ginjinha. Since the day is so heavily packed, realistically you only receive approximately 1hr per destination. This is worthwhile doing if you have limited time to explore Portugal and want to experience more than 1 individual city. Definitely would prefer extra time at each individual place; however, time is limited!

It rained a lot but our guide kept our spirits up and we had a wonderful time I all 4 places we visited. In my opinion, you can take Nazare off the tour. Fatima, Batalha and Obidos were great!

Louish is a knowledgeable patient guider gave us a lot of information about history, culture and nature, entire trip is stress free!

Such a wonderful experience! Pedro was a knowledgable, fun guide. Small group tours like this is always better for me.
