Nice shortish introduction to Santorini wine . Inevitable bias from some winery’s but to be expected . Museum a little dry and dusty . Views from Venetsanos outstanding. But as you’ll discover the winery’s don’t grow their own grapes and you don’t see the winery only literally a cellar door ! But unique grape unique setting and truly unique viniculture make it worthwhile.

Nice little trip to visit one authentic old winery which was by far the best and most informative, followed by a visit to the museum with wine tasting (felt quite commercial but still great to see) and then finally a scenic wine tasting at the final stop overlooking the cliffs with some meats and cheeses. Great value for money to get a taste for it and only 8 people in total on our trip (end-Sept). Our guide was great as well and we were on schedule. Only criticism would be that we seen the best place first and we would have liked to have bought more wine had we known the places we were visiting afterwards were not a great with the wine selections (in our opinion!).

They take you to 3 big and important wineries of Santorini, the wines are quite similar along the 3 but each one has a distinctive characteristic. In the first one, the biggest one which owns most of the vineyards of the Island, they provide and incredible tasting with food to pair and a lot of explanations about how they care about their grapes and different kinds. The second one is also a museum, so you get a nice overview of wine history in the island, different processes and machines along the years. The last one has an incredible view. Being that it's not so easy to move around Santorini without a vehicle, I think the tour is also worth it because of the transportation. They pick us up and drop us in a close location to our hotel.
