From Bali: Swim with Manta Rays in Nusa Penida

1. From Bali: Swim with Manta Rays in Nusa Penida

Head for the island of Nusa Penida and embark on a snorkeling adventure. Take advantage of 3 different stops to swim with Manta Rays, enjoy lunch on the beach, then spend the afternoon exploring the mangrove forest. Benefit from pick-up at your hotel in selected areas of Bali, and then journey to Nusa Penida, located 20 kilometers off the southeast coast. The largest of Bali's 3 sister islands (Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Ceningan), Nusa Penida is much less developed and remains home to abundant and pristine nature. Marvel at the dramatic landscape and steep cliffs along the coast as you make your way to some of the island's best snorkel sites. Upon arrival at the protected bay of Manta Bay, discover an ocean rich with plankton that attracts beautiful reef manta rays that can sometimes measure up to an impressive 4 or 5 meters in wing span. Go to 3 of the best snorkel sites on the island, including popular spots (depending on conditions) such as Crystal Bay, Toyapakeh, and Gamat Bay. As the strong swells of the Indian Ocean can impact conditions, the situation will be carefully monitored to take you to where it is safe to swim with the rays less than 1.5 meters from the surface of the sea. If conditions are not suitable, your snorkeling itinerary will be adjusted accordingly, as your safety is always the number one priority. Following your magical snorkeling adventure, break for a delicious beachside lunch at Paradise Beach on Nusa Lembongan. The lunch is served as an Indonesian food buffet. Then, get the chance to explore the mangrove forest in the afternoon by kayak, stand-up paddle board, or private gondola.

From Bali: Snorkeling Day Trip to Nusa Lembongan

2. From Bali: Snorkeling Day Trip to Nusa Lembongan

Snorkel through the colorful underwater worlds of the islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida on this guided tour from selected locations in Bali. Use high-quality gear to search for marine life and kayak through mangroves. Enjoy a delicious beachside lunch buffet.  Following pickup from your accommodation in Bali, journey across the water to the islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida to experience some of the most diverse coral reefs on the planet. Meet a snorkeling guide who will help you with all the necessary equipment. Flotation devices can be provided for people not comfortable in the water so that everyone can discover the pristine corals and enjoy the warm waters that are home to schools of brightly colored fish. Look for resident emperor angelfish, parrotfish, moray eels, turtles, and - in certain areas - manta rays. The specially designated snorkeling areas make for a safe and enjoyable activity for all ages. Visit Crystal Bay, Manta Bay, and Gamat Bay, famous for its sprawling coral garden and light currents. The exact snorkel spots visited will depend on the conditions. Feast on a delicious beachside lunch and take a mangrove tour by kayak to experience the scenery from a different perspective.

What people are saying about Sanur

I went on this tour on my own from Ubud and it was a great experience! Everything was well organized and timed, we did a lot of activities so that the day was full, but absolutely relaxing and exciting at the same time. The guides were always nice, helpful and made sure we knew what to do in the water. We managed to see the mantas although the sea was pretty rough in that spot, and then snorkeled through corals and amazing sea life in other two spots. The guys always called us towards things to see, and took a lot of pics and videos of us which can be purchased at the end. Of course, if you can spend more time on the island it would be better because you could avoid being in a crowd, but otherwise this tour is a great option! Just a small note on that the ferry from/to Bali can be a bit rough, if you usually get sea sick get tablets or sit in the middle :)

The trip is well organized. We saw manta rays and a rare fish, popular called “sun” fish. The staff was really helpfull with that. Be aware that the local population in Nusa Lembongan is really poor, but the mangroove forest and the nearby coral reefs are impressive. I totally recommend this trip!

It was a greatfull experience, the instructors was very professional and they anounced us every next step. The trip had 3 stops for snorkel and another one for lunch, the last one was a beautiful kayaking into the mangroove forest. Recomand this trip with this instructors.

This is a full day trip and all inclusive. We loved swimming with the manta rays and snorkelling in the different locations. Loved that lunch and towels were included. All you need to bring is sunscreen!

The activity is well planned and the guides are friendly. Activities are also very exciting and fun.
