From Bali: Swim with Manta Rays in Nusa Penida

1. From Bali: Swim with Manta Rays in Nusa Penida

Head for the island of Nusa Penida and embark on a snorkeling adventure. Take advantage of 3 different stops to swim with Manta Rays, enjoy lunch on the beach, then spend the afternoon exploring the mangrove forest. Benefit from pick-up at your hotel in selected areas of Bali, and then journey to Nusa Penida, located 20 kilometers off the southeast coast. The largest of Bali's 3 sister islands (Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan), Nusa Penida is much less developed and remains home to abundant and pristine nature. Marvel at the dramatic landscape and steep cliffs along the coast as you make your way to some of the island's best snorkel sites. Upon arrival at the protected bay of Manta Bay, discover an ocean rich with plankton that attracts beautiful reef manta rays that can sometimes measure up to an impressive 4 or 5 meters in wing span. Go to 3 of the best snorkel sites of the island, including popular spots (depending on conditions) such Crystal Bay, Toyapakeh and Gamat Bay. As the strong swells of the Indian Ocean can impact conditions, the situation will be carefully monitored to take you to where it is safe to swim with the rays less than 1.5 meters from the surface of the sea. If conditions are not suitable, your snorkeling itinerary will be adjusted accordingly, as your safety is always the number one priority. Following your magical snorkeling adventure, break for a delicious beach side lunch at Paradise Beach on Nusa Lembongan. The lunch is served as an Indonesian food buffet. Then, get the chance to explore the mangrove forest in the afternoon by kayak, stand-up paddle board or private gondola.

Bali: Best of Nusa Penida Full-Day Tour by Fast Boat

2. Bali: Best of Nusa Penida Full-Day Tour by Fast Boat

Climb aboard a fast boat at Sanur Beach and cross the brilliant blue sea to Toyapakeh on the small island of Nusa Penida. Meet your local host on arrival and begin your day trip by air-conditioned van. See pristine white sand beaches, dramatic cliffs, and lush vegetation along the way. Visit the famous Kelingking Beach for the chance to take photos of the most beautiful spot on the island. Marvel at the cliffs overlooking the Indian Ocean, and then continue to Pasih Uug (Broken Beach) and the natural pool of Angel's Billabong. Experience the peace and quiet of one of the less-visited spots on Nusa Penida before going to the popular beach at Crystal Bay, known for its great diving and snorkeling opportunities. Note, however, that snorkeling and diving are not part of this tour. Upgrade your tour to include drone footage of your experience. Get joined by a professional drone pilot on the day, then receive 3-4 minutes of high-quality and edited footage to your email after the tour. The video will summarize scenic aerial and ground footage of your experience along the tour.

From Bali: Snorkeling Day Trip to Nusa Lembongan

3. From Bali: Snorkeling Day Trip to Nusa Lembongan

Following pick-up from your accommodation in Bali, journey across the water to the islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida to experience some of the most diverse coral reefs on the planet. Meet a snorkeling guide who will help you with all necessary equipment, such as masks, fins and a life jacket. Flotation devices can be provided for people not comfortable in the water so that everyone can discover the pristine corals and enjoy the warm waters that are home to schools of brightly colored fish. Look for resident emperor angelfish, parrot fish, moray eels, turtles and - in certain areas - manta rays. The specially designated snorkeling areas make for a safe and enjoyable activity for all ages. Visit sites such as Crystal Bay, Manta Bay and Gamat Bay, famous for its sprawling coral garden and light currents. The exact snorkel spots visited will depend on the conditions. In good weather, you will go to Manta Point and Crystal Bay, while if there's a big swell you will visit Gamat Bay.  In addition, feast on a delicious beachside lunch and take a mangrove tour by kayak to experience the scenery from a different perspective..

East Bali: Snorkeling, Canyoning, and Waterfall Day Trip

4. East Bali: Snorkeling, Canyoning, and Waterfall Day Trip

Head out to Bali’s east coast for idyllic scenery and gorgeous beaches, with fewer crowds than other parts of the island. After pick-up, you’ll continue to Tanjung Jepun and Blue Lagoon for snorkeling sessions with an expert instructor. Glide above the vibrant coral reefs and keep an eye out for reef sharks, sea turtles, lion fish, and squid. The next stop is Tegenungan Waterfall, a short distance from Ubud. Get up close to the waterfall, swim in the water below it, and cool off from the tropical sunshine before continuing on to the hidden canyon in Sukawati. Finally, you’ll reach the Beji Guwang Hidden Canyon. The stone walls here were formed by river erosion over thousands of years, leaving beautiful patterns. Trek along the river before taking the chance to jump into the water. Rest up after your full-day adventure as you’re transported back to your accommodation.
