Cala Gonone: Gulf of Orosei Dinghy Excursion with Skipper

1. Cala Gonone: Gulf of Orosei Dinghy Excursion with Skipper

Every day we depart from the port of Cala Gonone at 9:00 am or 10:30 am for a beautiful dinghy excursion in the Gulf of Orosei.(12 people onthe boat). Our advice is to opt for the earliest departure so as to minimize the time of boarding and leaving the port, which is less busy at 9 am. The Captains, experienced guides who will give you a detailed and interesting explanation during the sailing, will take you to the most beautiful and picturesque beaches (you will see them all) : Cala Luna , Cala Sisine, Cala Biriola, Le Piscine di Venere, Cala Mariolu, and Cala Goloritzè. (During the beach stops it will not be possible to stay on board due to organizational needs of the Captain) . Leaving port, our captains will conduct a coastal navigation to allow you to admire up close the wonders of the stretch of coastline from Cala Gonone to Cala Goloritzè. During the navigation, our dinghies will be able to get close to many of the wonderful caves and inlets along the coast, such as Grotta dei Cormorani, Grotta Azzurra, the Cathedral and the Turquoise; in some you will also be able to swim inside. This will be followed by a stop at Cala Biriola, a delightful little beach with a pinkish color and emerald-colored water, and a leisurely swim at anchor in the heavenly, crystal-clear waters of the Piscine di Venere, continuing then to the wonderful Cala Goloritzè where you will make another stop for a swim very close to the natural arch adjacent to the beach. Back on board, the captain will set course for Cala Mariolu where you will make the longest stop of the day so you can eat, rest and bathe for about 2 1/2 hours (or more, particularly with the 9:00 a.m. departure). During lunch you can use the umbrellas (each 2 people) that you can ask the captain for before disembarking. In the afternoon you will resume sailing to reach the beautiful Cala Luna, which is even more pleasant in the afternoon as it is very crowded until 2 p.m. Here guests can stop for 2 hours for a refreshing swim. Return to port for this type of dinghy excursion is scheduled for 17:30 pm. N.B. if you start at 9.00 a.m. you will make 8,5 hours of excursion. If you start at 10.30 you will make 7 hours.

From Cala Gonone: Grotta del Bue Marino Boat Trip

7. From Cala Gonone: Grotta del Bue Marino Boat Trip

Since the 50s the attraction of Cala Gonone was mainly the Grotta del Bue Marino. Since then it has been admired by millions of tourists. The queen of this cave was precisely the "sea ox": this is how the popular imagination called the monk seal for its clumsy shape and mild behavior. Today visitors who come to the cave with our boats, can access the southern branch and along an easy walkway are to admire one of the most beautiful and famous caves in Italy. The visit inside takes about an hour during which expert guides are available to provide historical and scientific information about the cave and the fauna that populated it. If you choose to visit only the Grotta del Bue Marino the total duration of the excursion is about 2 hours including the return navigation and the visit inside (lasting 1 hour).

Arbatax: Gulf of Orosei Boat Trip to Cala Luna

8. Arbatax: Gulf of Orosei Boat Trip to Cala Luna

Embark on a picturesque journey along the Gulf of Orosei from Arbatax and marvel at some of Sardinia's most beautiful coves, many of which are only accessible by sea. Have the chance to take a guided tour of Fico Cave and/or enjoy lunch on board for an extra cost on the day. As you leave Arbatax harbor behind, admire Isolotto d'Ogliastra's vibrant colors of pink granite and red porphyry. Just after passing Santa Maria Navarrese, see the limestone-dolomite rock of Pedra Longa, the "guardian" of the treasures and secrets of the area, rising steeply from the sea.  Continue past the spectacular Baus waterfalls and through the Colombi cave and Cape Monte Santo until you arrive at two stunning fjords: Cala Scirocco and Cala Tramontana. In the latter, hear the tragic story of a Levante vessel whose remains can be glimpsed in the transparent waters of the seabed. Next, head to the extraordinary Cala Goloritzé and admire its characteristic arch, where the beach and the sea appear like a painting. After leaving this slice of maritime Eden behind, you'll arrive at Cala Mariolu. Here, you can disembark and enjoy the beach — with umbrellas available to rent from the boat — or take a guided tour of the Grotta del Fico (Fico Cave). Pay the entry fee, then explore the cave's unique limestone formations and hear how they were once the realm of the Mediterranean monk seal. Once back on board and the navigation resumes, head to the welcoming dining room to enjoy a zero-kilometer appetizer of local cheeses and cured meats. Savor prosciutto, guanciale, and coppa strictly from the area while immersed in the wild beauty of the Baunei coast. But the highlight of the onboard lunch is the fregola with seafood, prepared with a seafaring recipe from Ponza passed down through generations. Get an authentic taste of the sea as the squid and calamari sauce blends with the exquisite flavor of crabs, enriched with mussels and prawn tails. Enjoy a glass of Ogliastra wine with the main course before concluding with a slice of "sapa" cake with walnuts and seasonal fruits for dessert. Lunch is not included in the tour price. After this fulfilling culinary experience, you'll arrive at the beach of Cala Luna, where you can disembark and relax in one of the most picturesque places in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Later, as the route is reversed, the motorboat provides the exciting experience of Cala Sisine beach. This is also a stop where you can disembark. The tour then concludes by returning to Arbatax harbor.
