Planning Your Visit

  • Arrive Early to Avoid the Crowd

    It is, after all, Austria’s most-visited site. Schoenbrunn Palace is off the U4 Schoenbrunn stop, about a fifteen minute metro ride from the center of Vienna. Opening times for the gardens vary by season, but try to arrive around 8:30 when the palace opens daily. You will thank yourself when you see the crowd at noon.

  • Buy Tickets in Packages

    Avoid paying an entrance fee for each garden and the palace separately, and opt for a combination pass instead. The packages range from the Classic Pass to more luxurious packages like Sisi’s Treasures, which includes a three course meal and concert in the Orangery.

Great value for an unforgettable night! Special thanks to the restaurant management for accommodating my vegetarian request - the spinach torte was fantastic! Loved the performances and how interactive/varied they were. Was not expecting dancers and singers! The venue is beautiful - keep in mind you will not actually be inside the palace, rather in a performing arts center just to the left.

Very nice place, good information about "Sissi" I did miss the information about carriages Kg? And will be nice if by entry they will say to people to not talk louth.! It was very difficult to concentrate reading when people are talking, talking, talking and disturbing the whole route.

We had an amazing time when we visited te palace and the gardens! And that was mostly because we had a great tour guide!! We dont know her name anymore but she said we could call her B or Billy. Thank you!

Lovely setting. Nice pieces. The orchestra was scaled down to one instrument per part, more of an ensemble, really. We sat in the seventh row, which I was glad for since the room is long and narrow.

We had a fun experience riding through the gardens. Our driver was fun and informative. The gardens and fountains are impressive. It's expensive, but good if you can afford it.
