Full description

First stop will be Zafferana Etnea, where the guide will help you discover the beauty of the town, passing through areas lapped by different lava fronts.

Zafferana is considered the honey capital of Sicily. Enjoy the opportunity to taste honey and other typical products, including extra virgin olive oil with a tasting tour to appreciate their qualities. Next, you will move on to an Etna winery where you will meet an expert sommelier who will introduce you to some local wines. Learn the story behind the production of each bottle, from pruning to harvesting. Finally, led by the sommelier, you will have the opportunity to taste six different wines, not only from Mount Etna. At lunchtime, you will then visit the second winery, where you will enjoy a full lunch with antipasto, primo, and secondo, expertly paired with 3 Etna Doc wines (one white and two reds). After lunch you will visit the vineyards. Expert oenologists and/or sommeliers will take you behind the scenes of Etna's wine world, before returning to Catania in the early evening.

Both the transport, our guide Marco and the vineyards were above expectations! Marco shared much of his knowledge and was very nice and professional. The lunch was incredibly good and the visits to the vineyards were very good. It was extra fun to visit the vineyard Emilio Sciacca which invests in sustainable wines.

Highly recommend to anyone interested in wine. The tour was excellent and made by the amazing group we were fortunate to be part of. The wine and food were delicious and our guide was very knowledgeable and safe through all of the windy roads. If you're in Catania, fancy a day trip and like wine, do this one. Scenery is also breathtaking.

We enjoyed our time with dario, our guide, and appreciated his depth of knowledge about sicily and the areas we were driving and walking through. We treasured the opportunity to be exposed to real people living in this environment, and to the way they live and interact with the world. These are the best moments of travel for us.
