Full description
Early wake up and get picked up by comfortable vehicle, and visit Angkor Wat, the Angkor Thom complex containing Bayon temple and also Ta Prohm (Tomb-Raider) Temple. The automobile transports guests the short distances between the temples. Open your eyes to a beautiful Angkor Wat sunrise after an early wake-up call in the massive and magnificent Angkor Park. After the sunrise, you'll be able to satisfy your breakfast cravings at one of the many local restaurants within the Angkor Complex with some delicious Cambodian meal! The fascinating beauty of Bayon, located at the center of Angkor Thom, will then be explored. Its 54 towers are each topped off with the four faces of Avalokiteshvara. After Bayon, proceed to the world-famous Ta Prohm (Tomb-Raider) Temple, a 2001 movie. We'll return to town around midday (12:30pm).

I had 'Angkor Temple Day Tour and 4-Course Gastronomic Experience' and it was exceptional for me. The tour covers all important sights to be seen in Angkor complex, the dinner offered in the package was a very good choice and the restaurant was very nice. Our guide, Mr. Lucky made the difference. He gave valuable information, he is funny and very careful with his guests. And most important, he helps you to have the best puctures you may have from this trip. He is one of the best in indicating the best spots for making pictures and he even makes for you very artistic photos. I thank him again and I fully recommend the tour and Mr. Lucky.

The sunrise tour was a great experience however due to the weather conditions we didn’t really see a ‘sunrise’ as you would imagine. There were no picturesque red and pink skies etc, it simply went from dark to light, and therefore it may be worth considering missing the sunrise and just going in the morning. We had Kim as our tour guide, who was great and very knowledgable about everything to do with the temple. It is also worth bearing in mind that the tour is around 8 hours and due to the early start, this can leave you very tired towards the last temples. Finally, I would definitely recommend eating before the tour or bringing some snacks with you because if you have the breakfast, this doesn’t happen until at least 8am and we were all very very hungry by this point! All in all a good day!!

A fabulous opportunity to see something so unique in Kmer cultural heritage. However, on a site of 402 km² with 892 temples, it is only possible to scratch the surface. It would have been a logistical nightmare to visit without the use of the organised tour and dedicated guide. The only down side was that it was overcast at dawn so I never saw the the sun rise over Angkor Wat.
