Full description
At 5:00 AM, you will depart from your hotel with private transportation to the Angkor Wat Temple Complex. Here, you will purchase your temple pass and enter with your guide to witness a truly magical experience. Watch the sunrise over Cambodia’s most ancient and most respected monument – Angkor Wat.  Angkor Wat was built around the first half of the 12th century by King Suryavarman II. The temple's balance, composition and beauty make it one of the finest monuments in the world. The shear size of this monument makes it very overwhelming as it towers over the landscape. The morning is then filled with visiting and enriching yourself with a number of temples within the ancient grounds. Starting with the Angkor Thom complex, your first stop will be Bayon. Built in the latter part of the 12th Century by King Jayavarman VII, Bayon is one of the most widely recognized temples in the Angkor Park because of the giant stone faces that adorn the towers of Bayon. There are 54 towers of faces with 4 faces on each tower, Bayon consists of 216 faces, a sight not to be missed. The next stop is Ta Prohm, a jungle clad temple that offers a strange beauty as the stone works intertwine with jungle vines. For many this temple will be well known as it was featured in Angelina Jolie’s Tomb Raider. At 12:00 PM, your tour comes to an end and your guide will transfer you back to your hotel.

Amazing visit to some bucket list locations. We almost had Angkor Wat to ourselves and managed to get the most amazing photos with our guides help and expertise. Saw monkeys at Angkor Thom and the best views and photos at the other temples. Just a fantastic experience that was very much appreciated.

On our Asia tour we visited Siem Reap for 4 days. The highlight of our stay was visiting Angkor Wat and Angkor Tom. We booked the private sunrise tour with a German-speaking guide at The tour was perfectly organized. A comfortable, well-tempered car with a nice, considerate driver was available, who served cold water after each sightseeing tour. We were picked up from the hotel at 5:00 a.m. so that we could start the individual tour with a magnificent sunrise over the facility. The guide spoke very good German and was able to explain the Khmer temple architecture with its extensive bas-reliefs and the numerous Devatas that decorate the walls. The guide gave support to be able to take great photos. Best recommendation for this tour!

Being at Angkor Wat for the sunrise was cool, but I think the real benefit was being there before it got super crowded. We stopped to get tickets along the way and didn't have to wait in line, which we had heard could get really long, but since it was 5:30am in the morning we walked right up to the ticket window. It was nice to have a private car with air conditioning and water available and our guide spoke English well and was very knowledgeable about all of the temples we stopped at. These temples are super touristy though so be prepared to wait for the "perfect picture spots" if you want some of the classic pictures. Also be prepared with comfy shoes, something to cover your shoulders & knees and a long day.
