Full description
Explore the floating village on the Tonle Sap Lake on a half-day guided tour from Siem Reap. The tour is the perfect option if you don't have time to visit Prek Toal or Kompong Phluk. Following a pick-up from your hotel or guesthouse, transfer by air-conditioned vehicle to the Port near Phnom Krom. Your English and Khmer-speaking guide will point out areas of local interest along the way and answer any questions you may have. Pass rice paddies and fields of lotus flowers - a deeply important flower in Buddhism. Please note: the views of the lotus and rice fields will vary depending on the time of year. Continue to a crocodile and fish farm on the lake (depending on current water levels). Learn about some of the trades of the people on the lake. If catfish, crocodiles and large snakes don't interest you, there is a souvenir shop and viewing deck on board where you can purchase souvenirs and take some stunning photographs of the views. During the boat ride through the floating village, watch the locals going about their daily life. Briefly enter the edge of the Great Lake before docking at the Queen Tara, the biggest boat on the lake, in the heart of the floating village. Enjoy a well-deserved meal and 2 free drinks. After lunch, take a seat on the viewing deck and watch the world go by. Depart the Queen Tara and journey back to the port. Here, an air-conditioned vehicle will be waiting to transport you back to your hotel or guesthouse in Siem Reap.

That was a wonderful trip! After picking you up at the hotel, we took the minibus to the lake, past a lotus plantation and rice fields as well as several small villages. Two of us boarded a motor boat in Man See and led through the floating villages with our guide, saw Cambodian, Chinese and Vietnamese water settlements, a floating school, police station, the school boat and many small shops. Then we went to the center of the villages, where there are restaurants, shops and a crocodile farm. On the Queen Tara, a disused ship, there was a very good and rich lunch. Then we drove back to Siem Reap to the hotel. Our guide was very friendly and answered all of our questions in fluent English. Thank you for the nice day.

Is a super relaxed tour, you don't go to the houses with the big boat as you might think from the pictures. You are only taken to all the sights with a small feeder boat and at the end you eat lunch on the main boat. We were lucky to be the only ones on the tour. This made it possible for the guide to respond to our interests and questions very individually. We had a great experience, it was fun.

Really lovely chilled day in the middle of the heat and madness of temple tours. Good lunch and unlimited beer and soft drinks on board the boat for lunch. The lotus farm was stunning. One slight problem personally was the crocodile farm, it’s not ethical and the poor crocs are crammed into a small enclosure on top of each other but there is a place to sit and wait during this portion of the tour which Is self led anyway. Tour guide was wonderful, writing this a few days late so have forgotten names (sorry!) and gave us a lovely tour and day!
