Full description
Day 1: Board a traditional wooden boat called the Sat Toung in Phnom Penh and check into your cabin. The boat only holds 4 cabins and 8 passengers maximum, for a more intimate cruise experience. Set off on an unforgettable 3-day adventure down the Tonle Sap River. First, pass through the ancient and charming city of Udong which was once the capital of Cambodia. At night, drop the anchor at a small arm of the river in front of a typical farm on the banks of the river. Day 2: Venture up the river again for another 2.5 hours until you pass the city of Kampong Chhnang. Stop in front of a school in the village of Damnak Reach and make a short visit there. After walking in the village, return to the boat to enjoy lunch served on board. Then, set sail to navigate another of the countless arms of the river, at the foot of a very green hill. Anchor for the night in a small village from which you can ride a tuk-tuk at the top of the hill to overlook the rice fields. Also, visit a beautiful pagoda. Day 3: The next morning, while having breakfast, cruise for about 1 hour to Kampomg Chhnang. Disembark there and take a tuk-tuk to a village composed of traditional pottery workshops with handicrafts sold throughout Cambodia. Learn about all the stages of their manufacture until they are placed in the kiln. Hop back on board the boat for a hearty lunch. Finally, get picked up in a taxi and take a 4-hour transfer to the city of Battambang where your tour concludes. The routes are of course opposite but identical in both directions from Battambang to Phnom Penh or vice versa.
