Begin your tour with pickup at your hotel in Kraków, then travel in an air-conditioned van for approximately 1 hour to Wadowice, the hometown of Pope John Paul II. Upon arrival, have a short break before going to the parish church on Main Market Square where the future pope was baptized. In 2011, Jasna Gora was visited by 3.2 million pilgrims from 80 countries. During an approximately 7.5-hour long tour from Krakow to Czestochowa, explore the Jasna Gora Monastery and Sanctuary, visit the shrine of Black Madonna, and the Treasury with museum exhibition. Jasna Gora has been the major shrine to the Virgin Mary and the country's most popular pilgrimage destination since the 17th century. Aside from the places of worship on Jasna Gora, there is also an exhibition dedicated to the history of the place, which will tell you, among others, about the brave defense of the Monastery during the 1655 Siege of Jasna Góra. Excellent trip, highly recommend. Our pick up and time did get changed slightly on the day before which we were fine with. The auschwitz 1 tour and guide was fab, my only issue was with the tour in Birkenau I struggled to hear the guide as we were at the back. Overall excellent the lunch provided was also great.
