Cape Town Kayaking with Penguins Experience - Boulders Beach

3. Cape Town Kayaking with Penguins Experience - Boulders Beach

Kayaking with Penguins is an exhilarating and one-of-a-kind opportunity to discover and experience not only the Boulders Beach Penguin colony, but also Simon's Town and its Naval Harbour, where we pass by some of South Africa's largest naval warships. Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town is home to a land-based colony of endangered African Penguins. The beautiful False Bay coastline welcomes you to explore its warm inviting waters and to embark on a sea kayaking adventure of a lifetime. Hop into one of our sturdy, stable kayaks and take a guided trip to the iconic landmark of Boulders Beach. In 1985, when the first pair of relocated African (Jackass) penguins began to lay eggs, the suburban seaside village of Simon’s Town had no idea that Boulders Beach would become home to a colony of over 2350 penguins! Nature enthusiasts may best enjoy this spectacular colony from the water, while basking in the Cape Town sun and taking in the beautiful land and sea vistas of False Bay. Boulders Beach offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swim with penguins on a semi-private beach. But beware, these charming, waddling birds carry nasty bites. Take advantage of the August to October Whale Season to spend time with these spectacular and endangered marine creatures in their natural surroundings. If you are an avid adventure seeker or nature lover and have felt the exhilaration of the many exciting adventure activities that Cape Town has to offer, you must know that your “adventure resume” is simply not complete without a kayaking trip on the warm waters of False Bay to the Boulders Beach African Penguin colony.

RockHopping with a Marine Biologist: Cape Peninsula Full Day

4. RockHopping with a Marine Biologist: Cape Peninsula Full Day

Rockhopping with a marine biologist along the Peninsula is a full day immersive experience of sight seeing and exploring the coast from spotting large sea life like whale and dolphins in the distance to the small yet impressive marine life in the rocky pools. Based on the weather conditions and real time information of animal sightings we maximise the outdoor experience like no other conventional tourist experience by choosing the best spots for that particular day. The experience begins at a meeting spot at Chardonnay Deli, Constantia Cape Town. The route we take will depend on the weather conditions on the day. The stops include, Chapmans Peak, Cape Point, Boulders Beach and other spots in between if time allows. We will have a picnic lunch on the rocks on one of the secluded and sheltered beaches. This will also be your chance to take a dip in one of the tidal pool or sheltered bays if you so wish. The booking not only supports local guides but also contributes towards the RockHopper Academy, buys shark research tags and supports marine reserves. If you feel a pull towards the ocean or nagging curiosity that urges you to go a little further in your exploration, join us. We can not wait to meet you!
