Set off from the meeting point in a convertible Jeep and enjoy great views of the sights and palaces of Sintra as you drive through the town. Head off-road down an unmarked trail and you will reach the westernmost point of continental Europe – the incredible cliffs of Cabo da Roca. Here you’ll start to see the sun going down. From here you begin the hike down to the secret beach It’s a steep route with some twists and turns, but after a half-hour walk you’ll reach the soft, golden sand. Relax on the beach and enjoy some traditional Portuguese ‘petiscos’ (tapas) such as cheese, chouriço, bread, and more. The adventure begins through the countryside following the centenary tram line, inside Sintra’s rural area towards Colares. You will have the opportunity to see the simplicity of our typical villages, and as proof of this, we will show you the oldest Wine Cellar in the country, where you can get to know a little of Portugal’s winemaking traditions, which remain intact, from the ancient times to the present day. (not available on Sundays) From the wine cellar, we head to the coast to one of our favourite beaches, considered the “Santorini of Portugal”, – a small village found between the ocean and the cliffs – a heavenly location with a natural pool and stunning views. Continue on the coastline towards the most famous beaches in the area, and as we are getting there ahead of the crowds, we are lucky enough to enjoy the vast ocean avoiding the vast “ocean of people instead”. Through paths and trails, on top of the cliffs, we continue of adventure taking you to our secret location, which can only be reached with the help of a 4×4 jeep so off-grid that even most of the locals are unaware of. Try not to lose your breath as this magnificent setting shows you breathtaking landscapes, that we are sure you will never forget! Cross the mountain on an off-road trail and raise some dust on your way to Sintra Center getting to our last visit of the day: the most iconic palace, with the best postcard-like views of the country: Pena Palace.

Oh and bring an empty bottle of water to refill at one of the many centenary fountains with the best fresh Sintra water directly from the mountain. We arrive at Biester Palace & Park for a guided tour! Running away from the mass tourism that currently exists in Sintra’s top attractions (Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira for example) we visit this stunning property, that has just opened gates for visitors (it was a private property for more than 100 years, you will be the first visitors). A fascinating building with an immense garden (park), a cultural labyrinth with lot’s mysteries and secrets to discover. Biester Palace & Park, the film set from Roman Polanski with Johnny Depp “Ninth Gate” and one of Luigi Manini creations is a landmark for Sintra, and is one of the first buildings and finest examples of chalets of its kind. Surrounding this piece of revivalist architecture – a vast garden including waterfalls, viewpoints (with the best views of all of Sintra’s attractions) , pieces of art (famous Bordalo Pinheiro’s tiles) caves and secret chambers! Following on from this spectacular location, we will pass by Quinta da Regaleira (don’t worry, when the Tour ends you may come back for a visit, we can assist you with the tickets so you avoid lines and give you all the information needed) and arrive to Seteais Palace where we will stop for the best Pena Palace views and to fill you up with historical and cultural information about the sights and surroundings! Oh and don't worry about feeling tired or pedaling too much, the ebikes are ready to assist! We peddle back to Sintra’s Historical center, venturing through Sintra Forest and ancient paths! At the historical center, apart from the traditional cobble narrow streets you will be able to catch sight of all the green surroundings, iconic Palaces and World Heritage properties and admire the center’s gem: Sintra’s National Palace and its historical structure providing a panoramic view of the distant landscapes! After a toast with a wine tasting at a local winery – our offer to you – we get back to our shop where we originally met for the end of this Half Day (but very full and exciting itinerary) of adventures and lot’s of fun!
