Full description
In 1866 Hans Christian Andersen travelled to Portugal. After a few months in Lisbon and Setúbal, he reached Sintra. Learn about what the Danish writer saw and did here on this tour. Your guide is an historian who has studied the memories of Andersen in Sintra, as well as the history of Sintra in the 19th Century. You will start your walking tour in Sintra's historic centre and from there you will pass through a number of places - in the Village and around it - where Hans Christian Andersen also walked, as well as significant spots, untraceable nowadays, due to the man-made development that followed Andersen's time in Sintra. The walking tour will have a duration of around 3 and a half hours (regular terrain) and the effort implied is equivalent to spending a whole afternoon strolling around touristic areas, with ups and downs.
