Full description
Meet your guide in front of Alexander Nevski Cathedral and head out on a short walk to see the city’s sights. See Hagia Sofia Church, built in 6th century, pass through Sofia University, and visit the Parliament and Sofia University. Stop at these and other important historical monuments on your 3-hour guided walk. Stop for breakfast and enjoy Bulgarian banitsa, along with ayryan, as Bulgarians normally do in the morning. Banitsa is made from dough and cheese and sometimes meat. It is a taste treat unique to Bulgaria and the Balkans. Ayryan is a drink prepared from yogurt that is a perfect final touch to the breakfast. Continue walking along the narrow streets, which are part of old Sofia, to Graf Ignatiev Street and a famous local market. You can buy fresh fruits and vegetables or taste baked nuts or delicious snacks. It is a market with many stalls, all competing for the buyers’ attention. Your guide will lead you to a famous pastry shop. Along the way, you pass through the biggest open-air bookstore in Bulgaria – a favorite meeting point for many people. At one of the best pastry shops featuring traditional Bulgarian desserts, you’ll taste a delicious dessert called baklava. It is very sweet and filled with nuts. You might also try tolumbichka, cream cake, or other sweets. Be sure to sample another unique regional beverage, fermented boza, with your baklava.

    Poor experience. Not recommendable.

The only good point is that we had a small 5 people tour and the breakfast was fine. I would not recommend the tour for the following reasons though: - the guide was not passionate, he didn't seem to care. Most of the time, we had to be asking him. Also, in several occasions he couldn't answer with data some of our questions. - the tour duration was 2 hours. We could have seen more things in the hour that was left. Apparently they have another tour in the evening for the other half of the city and that is why they don't show the rest. They do this in 2 separated tours to get more money, not because there is no time to do everything in the promised 3 hours. - From the 2 hour tours, at least half an hour was by ourselves in churches or in the park, eating the breakfast, walking without talking, etc. - In general, too expensive for what you get.
