You will fish for a total of around 5-6 hours. Anglers can choose whether they fish with spin or fly rods, but bait fishing is sometimes also possible. For those who would like to learn to fly fish, your guide is more than willing to teach you the right technique. Anglers are allowed to take up to 2 fish from the day with them, though catch and release is the standard practice. While Hekla is fairly dormant these days, its last eruption was little over 10 years ago in February of 2000. Since the country was settled in the 9th century, the volcano has erupted about 20 times, often with devastating effects. Hekla was notorious in Medieval Europe when it was believed to be the entrance to hell.
