Yogyakarta: Jomblang Cave & Prambanan Sunset Full-Day Tour

2. Yogyakarta: Jomblang Cave & Prambanan Sunset Full-Day Tour

After pickup from your accommodation in Yogyakarta, head straight to the Jomblang Cave to kick off your adventure through Indonesian nature and culture. After being outfitted with rappelling gear, you’ll descend nearly 200 feet to the bottom of the cave before scrambling through a muddy tunnel.  Emerging from the tunnel, you’ll experience what can only be described as heavenly — at the bottom on an immense cave, rays of sunlight stream down towards you through a small hole at the top. After basking in the glow, you’ll exit the cave, bound for the Pramabanan Temple compound. As the sun sets, you’ll explore the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia, picking up firsthand knowledge of the country’s rich religious traditions. If you so choose, you can hire a local guide at the temple complex for a tour to enrich your experience. After ambling through the stunning collection of stone temples, you’ll head back to your accommodation in Yogyakarta.

From Bali: Private Yogyakarta Day-Trip with Flight Option

3. From Bali: Private Yogyakarta Day-Trip with Flight Option

Get picked up from your hotel, head to the airport and hop on a plane for a full-day adventure in Yogyakarta on Java Island. Once landed, you will meet your professional guide and head to Indonesia's largest and most beautiful Hindu temple, Prambanan. Learn about the history and folklore of the ninth-century temple before going to the Sultan Palace Kraton. Built in 1790, the Sultan Palace Keraton remains a center of the walled city with shops, markets, schools, mosques and the city’s batik dyeing and silver industries. Your next destination is the world's largest Buddhist Temple and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Borobudur Temple. An example of Indonesia’s classic art and architecture, the temple consists of three monuments, which together represent the phases in the attainment of nirvana. Upon arrival back in Bali, you will be picked up and brought back to your hotel. This is a perfect tour if you have only one day for exploring the Yogyakarta area and want to see its most famous sites.

What people are saying about Special Region of Yogyakarta

One of the most beautiful experiences in my life.

We booked it through an agency. Because we wanted an all-round carefree package. You have to be there early to make sure you get a ticket. You have to be free from giddiness, because you first have to abseil about 50 meters. The way in the cave is a pure mud adventure and not easy to walk .. without maybe slipping. Or the rubber boots get stuck....but it was still worth it....

If you are at Bali - you need to go to see these Temples! Impressiv and magnificent! I bought flight by my self with Garuda Indonesia but if there are cheaper available you can get once with Lion Air. Our Guide Malik was very funny - we enjoyed time with him. The food during lunch was ok - maybe a bit without spices! But any way - recomended!

Excellent, really amazing cave.

We enjoyed the tour, and guide was enthusiastic to show us around. Amazing cave! A unique sight to see. I don't want to say much else but i would definitely recommend doing this tour.

Widi is a really good guide who knows many things about Yogya and the indonesian culture and showed us nice places to spend some time. This trip was awesome, exciting and funny.

Really amazing trip, with super good guide and driver, and the light in the cave is perfect.
