From Marrakesh: Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Tour

1. From Marrakesh: Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Tour

Experience the beauty of the Ourika Valley up-close on this full-day scenic tour from Marrakesh, and escape the hustle and bustle of the city for the day. The Ourika Valley is the closest day trip from Marrakesh, but it’s not just its convenience that makes it special. Drive towards the Atlas Mountains, taking in the beautiful landscape of green meadows and authentic 16th and 17th-century Berber villages. If you take your tour on a Monday, you can even stop at a roadside souk. See fruit orchards, vegetable terraces, and villages clinging to the side of hills. Marvel at the labor undertaken by the Berbers who hoisted materials to construct small houses up mountainsides, and work the terraces in a hostile environment. Continue along the valley of palm trees, following the Ourika River. Fruit trees, tiny hamlets, riverside restaurants, and the summer homes of the wealthy will keep you occupied. Go to Setti Fatma to feel the refreshing waters. Feel the spray on your face as you cool down from the African heat, along with the locals of Marrakech who have made it their favorite weekend retreat.

What people are saying about Sti Fadma

Amazing experience!! The guide picked us op right on time in a van with WiFi and airconditioning. Then we visited the argan oil cooperative, which had a bit of show for tourists, but still fun to see. The women explained everything really well and weren't pushy so you could look around without pressure. There is also a bathroom there. After that you visit the Berber house, also showy for tourists, but again fun to see the rooms. The hike was about an hour and a half and right at the waterfall you get some time to drink something. There's a cafe there with freshly squeezed orange juice. That was about 20 drh for a glass, definitely worth it! After the hike you get plenty of time to eat AMAZING food at the restaurant at the river. A menu (starter, main, dessert) was about 10 euros that day, but i think it can vary so bring more money. On thursday you can stop at a Berber market with a mountain view, really fun and they had a lot of good cheap snacks, traditional and non-traditional.

Great tour, stops were really interesting. We would advise that you only do the walk up to the waterfall if you are at peak fitness as we struggled due to the steepness and uneven ground. This is no reflection of the tour or the guides as they were great. Restaurant we stopped at was great value for 3 courses, worked out st less than £20 for both of us with drinks. The scenery was amazing and had plenty if time to take photos. Guides were very knowledgeable, fun and kept us safe at all times.

Youssef tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate to share with us local traditions, helping safe trekking on the mountains, Berber house visiting guides etc. the whole tour was planned really well. There is so much to see and do. Lunch by the mountain riverside on the traditional Berber way was a unique experience for us. Will definitely recommend.

Badr has been a really nice guy all day long; he has shown us the beauty of the Ourika Valley and provide us too of some interesting comments of typical Moroccan traditions.

More than what was expected Scenery stunning up the mountain Good day
