Full description

Your driver will meet you at your hotel and you’ll head off on the drive to Etna volcano. Spend 5 hours on this jeep adventure, and ride up to a maximum altitude of 1,900 meters. Enjoy great views and taste a special local product as you discover the hidden treasures of the most active European volcano. During the first stop, your driver will provide an introduction to Mount Etna, and you’ll visit a lava front. Next is a 50-minute walk through lava craters (Sartorius Mounts, at 1,700 meters) or, if you prefer, free time at Rifugio Citelli. Later the jeep will take you up to 1,850 meters (Piano Provenzana) to see some of the lava flow from the 2002 eruption. In between the trip, you’ll stop for lunch in a local rustic restaurant with wine included. Make a final stop at a lava cave before the drive back to Taormina.

Informative , great local guide , great lunch .

Our guide Mirko was perfect , the day was filled with interesting story's , his passion for sicilily was obvious . The pace of the day was just right , we were picked up at our apartment and dropped back , much appreciated after a long day . We stopped at acricultural farm and had food to die for ! Cooked by the boss an old Sicilian lady who was spoiling us with great feast of local fare . We went of road and was able to experience Edna in all its glory a very memorable day I would highly recommend specially if you are lucky enough to get the guide we did .

Excellent guide

We booked the 5 hour morning trip online and with ease. We were the only customers on this tour with our guide, Eddie, who was fantastic. He picked us up at the hotel and time and was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout the trip. The tour was interesting and we were brought back to the hotel on time. A very good tour with an excellent guide.

A pleasant morning day trip

My sister and I were the only 2 on the tour, so we got specialized attention, which was great. We were picked up at hotel right on time. We weren't sure who we were going with though because the vehicle didn't have the Mt Etna logo and the driver didn't have a picture ID of any kind. But the driver did call me by my name. The only thing that we both didn't like was that we didn't get close the the volcano. We were both expecting to see the actual volcano in action.
