Tenerife: Mount Teide Tour with Cable Car Ticket & Transfer

1. Tenerife: Mount Teide Tour with Cable Car Ticket & Transfer

Join a day trip from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Teide National Park, home to Mt. Teide, Spain’s tallest peak at 12,198 feet (3,718 meters). Following pickup from your hotel, head to the park, and explore its lunar landscapes. Take a cable car to the peak and enjoy time at leisure to soak up the views. After getting picked up in the selected location, visit the largest national park in the Canary Islands and experience a volcanic landscape of unrivaled beauty with your Mount Teide cable car ticket. Forget the car and contribute to a sustainable Teide. By choosing group transport, beat overcrowding in the vehicle parking zones inside the national park which, as a conservation measure, are small and unsuitable for expansion. From the base station, board the cable car for the 8-minute ride up to the highest peak in Spain. The cable car’s upper station, at 3,555 meters, is the point of departure for 3 interesting trails for hiking enthusiasts. There are paths to Pico Viejo Lookout and La Fortaleza Lookout, where you’ll have spectacular views of the north and south of the island. The Telesforo Bravo path leads to the highest point of the volcano, at an altitude of 3,718 meters. To visit the peak you must apply for a permit in advance.

Mount Teide Summit Guided Hiking Tour

2. Mount Teide Summit Guided Hiking Tour

Take a 3-hour guided hike along one or more of the 30 trails on Mount Teide. The great variety and levels of difficulty make it easy for visitors to choose their ideal route with the recommendations of the guide. The trails with the most spectacular vistas are on the summit of Mount Teide (3,718 meters) and they can be reached from the La Rambleta starting point (accessible by cable car) followed by trail number 10.  Without a doubt the most popular trail is the one leading to the volcano's peak, but there are limits on how many people can visit that area of Teide. You will be provided with an official guide, who will prepare you for the hike and accompany you along the route to provide commentary on the spectacular natural landscapes.

Very professionally guided, absolutely impressive tour with lots of exciting background information on the history and formation of the highest mountain in Spain at 3,715 m and the 3rd highest volcano in the world. The path is maintained, but good shoes are highly recommended. A warm jacket and possibly a hat are also essential, as it is significantly colder at this altitude than at sea level and often windy. The park administration allows only 200 people to climb the summit every day; Be sure to book tickets early!

Perfect day out. Maria was a fab guide, everything ran smoothly. Visitors need to remember that the summit is over 20 degrees colder than at sea level, so wrap up. Amazing views and landscape. Trip was worth every cent, I highly recommend.

Transport on time, with comfortable microbus, nice and knowledgeable guide with good english. Weather was great and all went as planned. I recommend this tour, there is really nothing to complain about.

Well arranged excursion with a very good guide. He was informative, so we learnt a lot about the area. And it was a beautifull trip.

Fantastic views, excellent guides. The most spectacular day out.
