Skip The Line Cappadocia: Small-Group Guided Tour

1. Skip The Line Cappadocia: Small-Group Guided Tour

The driver and the guide will pick you up from your hotel in the morning. Then you can decide with them what to visit. Cappadocia's most famous attraction, for good reason, is the Göreme Open Air Museum, a complex of medieval painted cave churches carved out by Orthodox monks. There are over 10 cave churches in the Göreme Open Air Museum. Along with rectories, dwellings, and a religious school, they form a large monastic complex carved out of a roughly ring-shaped rock formation in the otherworldly landscape of Cappadocia. Old Cavusin, with its rock-cut dwellings and stone houses, had several hermitages. The two most important churches in Cavusin are the Great Basilica dedicated to St. John the Baptist and Cavusin Church or the 'Great Pigeon House'. The old city of Avanos, whose name in ancient times was Venessa, overlooks the longest river in Turkey, the Kızılırmak (Red River). The ceramic trade in this district and its countless pottery factories date back to the Hittites, and the ceramic clay from the red silt of the Kızılırmak has always been used locally. Watch the potters at work using the kick wheel, using a technique that has not changed for generations. Pasabag, the remarkable earth pillars, can also be seen here, in the middle of a vineyard - hence the name of the place which means: the Pasha’s vineyard. Also known as Imaginary Valley or Pink Valley, this area does not have cave churches like the other valleys of Cappadocia. The small fairy chimneys in the valley form a lunar landscape, or moonscape, by their strange appearance. The valley has many animal-shaped rocks. Some of the most commonly seen shapes include camel, snake, seals, and dolphins.

Cappadocia: Göreme Museum and Fairy Chimney Tour

2. Cappadocia: Göreme Museum and Fairy Chimney Tour

Cappadocia is a geological oddity of honeycombed hills and towering boulders of otherworldly beauty. The fantastical topography is matched by the human history here. People used the region's soft stone to seek shelter underground, leaving the countryside scattered with fascinating man-made caves. Discover the churches of Göreme Open Air Museum, carved into the rock and covered with frescoes. Explore the subterranean refuges of Derinkuyu and Kaymakli, the most famous sights in the region. After hotel pickup, your first stop is at Devrent. Continue to Pasabag, then wander through the vineyards of Fairy Chimneys village. Have lunch at a local restaurant in Avanos, a center for terracotta art. In the afternoon, visit the world-famous Open Air Museum of Göreme to witness the Christian and Byzantine cave churches. End your day by climbing up to Uchisar Fortress, the highest point in Cappadocia.

What people are saying about Tekelli

As we only had one full day in Capadocciq we decide to get amday tour instead of the Balloon tour. We had Hazret as a guide and Ahmet as our driver, and this was just great! They were on tim and we had a costumed tour where Hazret had the patience and knowledge to explain us everything and show us all the main sightseeing of Capadoccia, leaving us enough time to explore and enjoy in our own pce, a beautiful day in their company. Thank tou both for this stunning experience!

Our guide Elif and our driver Ali made the day for us. They were punctual and extremely warm. The tour was well explained and well paced, not rushed at all. We could choose what to visit and what to skip without constraints. Elif was well versed with history and proficient in English. She even clicked beautiful pictures for us. We would highly recommend taking this tour on your visit to Cappadoccia.

Elif was a wonderful guide. She was very knowledgeable and very kind. She offers water and goes the extra mile in going deeper with the history. She speaks very good english also!

Great tour overall if you want to quickly cover the main attractions in Cappadocia. The guide, Ahmet provide us a lot of knowledge in the histories of the place. Would recommend.

Really fun experience. Covered everything you need in Cappadocia in a single day and skipped what I wanted to skip. Guide was laid back, informative, and helpful.
